You don humble sha. LOL.
Warehouse manager.
Warehouse manager slaying a 16 yr programming veteran. I wonder what would be if I was a dedicated developer. I probably would have embalmed your remains and interred it long time ago

Slay who? You wey no sabi wetin you put down, your question to guru01 was wrong( now am more convinced).
By the way some of those books for programmers interview are inconclusive, they just test how well you can read between the lines. At least i still have those interview skills na seeing those funny things you put down. LOL

You should. Considering what @dhtml did and you supported(trying to find out about me), i could really do some damage to you guys ohhh. I hope it does not get to mention of my past employee.
Please dig. I am daring you to dig

My question to guru01 was sooooo correct.

The question asked for which of the options wasn't true. Is it not true that you need an exit path if you want a recursive function to terminate? So how can B be a valid answer?
Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by asalimpo(m): 1:00am On Feb 27, 2016
is your trial-and-error approach allowed?
running on a machine to check your work?

I dont do that. I am here for the fun. Like i said earlier. What will it profit me to find out the women @dhtml18 has put in the family way?? LOL

Thats programming. Whats the point of writing code that wont run. If i did not run the code wont have seen all those mishots na. LOL

Not in all cases. If i can think of a scenerio i will mention it later.

I'm looking forward to a recursive function WITHOUT an exit path. Infinite loop aye

I didn't know that trial and error was allowed. But I will indulge him

I am interfacing with minds more intelligent than yours. By beer parlour I meant a Bar. I have never owned or held a gun

A recursive function can actually terminate without an exit path
a. scenerio out of memory (know this about java)
b. stack overflow( saw this online)

So bro guru01 was actually correct. Will inform him tommorrow, the guy go finish you. lol.... grin

Aren't these errors? Is the correct way for a recursive function to work for it to run out of memory or have a stack overflow ?

You dey ask me?? Even running the jvm with an application using more resources and starving the jvm will cause any infinite loop to say goodnight. @guru01 will be too happy. I was not thinking clearly that time i should have remembered na. lol. I go laugh die tommorrow....

That you sin differently doesn't make u better than me. You no set fork your girlfriend ? Nobi sin be dat? You no set lie? Nobi sin be dat?

As my brain cells don die finish I still dey give u questions wey dey destroy u. Imagine if they were all alive?

Give me one functional recursive procedure that is guaranteed to terminate that doesn't have an exit path and you have me cornered

And who said I was inebriated? I have been communicating with you and if I didn't tell u that I was drinking you would never have known. I only mentioned that I'm a bar slightly tipsy and I'm still forking your brain up.

See this guy, i go write 100 self for you since i don know wetin i go do na. But i will wait for @guru01 to kill you first, then you will go defensive and i will supply the code. Better you start begging him down now. I will show mercy then by not supplying him the tools but if God wan catch you the guy go read the whole thread. Overconfidence worry you die and he don finish you. lol. Rolling on the floor now. lol.

Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by airsaylongcon: 1:25am On Feb 27, 2016
Seunthomas here's the question once again
airsaylongcon:
A procedure "CallBack" is recursive for *some* inputs. If this procedure is guaranteed to terminate, then which of the following is not true.

a) CallBack has a local variable
b) CallBack has an path of execution where it is not recursive (doesn't call itself)
C) CallBack refers to a global variable or has one or more parameters
Now can you show me a functional recursive procedure where there is NO execution path that is not recursive?
Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by seunthomas(op): 1:28am On Feb 27, 2016

Yes na, does the callback necessarily need a path of execution which is not recursive? No
This assertion is definately not true. Because a program with an infinty loop can still terminate via stackoverflow.
Re: The Greatest Programmer On Nairaland by asalimpo(m): 1:28am On Feb 27, 2016
This thread reminds me of a movie i watched recently.
Focus.

There's was a chronic gambler, that betted on everything.
If he were here watching this thread spin, I'm sure he'd have bet that the
the the thread will (or will not) hit n pages (n=10,20,21).

#To think that yesterday i was exclaiming that it had hit 8 pages!!

The challenge was worth it. @guru01 challenged @airsaylongcon and he was denied his crown. He will get it tommorrow. tongue

I laugh in edo ijaw and small itsekiri. So you will cause a stackoverflow in order to make your recursive function terminate?
