Without out the public outcry the Junketeer PMB would have played deaf and dumb to our failing economy. Media team is more important than economic team.
This is what we see when we have a senile, psychotic, normadic and senseless man as a president......El Rufai

How could a sensible government form an economic team that is made up of the same people who created the need for an economic team? What's Osinbajo's business with economic team?

[quote author=senier007 post=43291630]The Presidency has disclosed that President Muhammadu Buhari has an economic management team. The Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, Mr Laolu Akande, disclosed this in a telephone interview with our correspondent last light.

Akande was reacting to a media report that quoted some economic experts as urging the president to form his economic team. According to him, the economic team of President Buhari has been put in place since the inauguration of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) last November.

Akande said the economic management team is headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.  He listed the team’s key members as including the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma; the Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun; the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah; the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godswin Emefiele; and the Director-General of the Debt Management Office (DMO). He said the composition of the team was not static as Agriculture Minister Audu Ogbe and Information Minister Lai Mohammed as well as relevant permanent secretaries have also been involved.

The vice president’s aide said the team had since been meeting and engaging representatives of the private sector.

He noted that unlike what obtained in the past, Buhari’s administration did not make anybody from the private sector a member of the economic management team.

The vice president’s spokesman also exclusively told our correspondent that President Buhari had appointed Dr. Oluyemi Dipeolu as his Special Adviser on Economic Matters.  He said the economic adviser, who was until his appointment in January a director in the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), has been working with the economic management team.

Change as a slogan the time has gone na only actions Nigerians need. Shouting change mean a nothing it time for work and work. Nigeria no start today some people have served the nation before. People should go and sit down if the change is not genuine. Talking about talk we
(Nigerians) have heard enough from the government since independent. No statement is new to us na less talk big working, aka show full working. God bless those that love Nigeria and Nigerians.

Economic team includes Budget and planning minister, whom, If he had any personal honor, would have quickly taken responsibility and resigned in the wake of the budget padding scandal.

It's also funny that Liar Mohamed, the propaganda minister is part of the so-called economic team.

The so called economic team PMB flaunted last year are still d same face we have been seeing over the years. these set of pple where there during the regime of obasanjo yaradua and jonathan and nothing changed. so if nothing changed during those years, i bet you nothing will ever change cos their brains are completely empty. i called them bunch of recycle politicians whose economic blue print have brought woes to our dear fatherland.
Re: Presidency Unveils Buhari’s Economic Team by Jimi23(m): 9:33am On Feb 27, 2016
What kind of team is this? No one in the private sector? How dumb. These people are alread in govt yet the only "change" we see is d crumbling state of the naira. So what difference will their being on the team make? Is Buhari really concerned about the growth of our economy at all? He should please think out of the box. Everything is getting damn expensive and the masses are the worst hit. I feel very sorry for APC come 2019. Nigerians are waiting...

This is a very CONFUSED federal administration with no plan whatsoever for our country!
They are not pro-active.
They only REACT when they are pushed by NEGATIVE public opinion. Then they rush to spew out LIES and more propaganda to make their matters worse.
So they established an economic team since November 2015 but no one knew about it despite this being a very media-conscious paparazzi photocracy, not so huh

Meanwhile, not having the private sector adequately represented spells DOOM for our economy again just like in the 80s under this economically daft, dumb & dull megida who already confessed with his own mouth that he is too old to perform. angry

Some of the yelling of the opposition may not be unwarranted but most times it is ill conceived.

It should be noted by all that Rome was not built in a day and any road that has no obstacles lead nowhere.
Nonetheless, the commitment and will of the present administration is the ultimate asset of the CHANGE MANTRA some of us has upheld and we are confident that the CHANGE the people so desire and deserve will surely come.
It should also be noted that Rome did not kick-start it's supremacy with propaganda and budget fraud.

If 1% of Nigerians reason like those in Nairaland, then Nigeria is definitely going to hit the rock, economically, socially,
morally and otherwise. Changed mantra have so blinded some Nigerians that, they hardly think out of the box and at least reason like
humans for once. Buhari names ''economic team'' naturally, ordinarily and normally one expects to see new names and fresh bloods injected into the team. Nay, instead the same old and re-circled politicians and cabinet members were named and some mindless zombies here are chanting change!!! change!!. Sometimes, i don't understand if Nigerians know what is ''Change''. God have mercy.

Great.

I know with time, today's hardship will give way for prosperity with PMB/VPYO as our Change agents.

The economic situation of today is a result of our bad decisions of many years past. It's not a rocket science.
Re: Presidency Unveils Buhari’s Economic Team by sinistermind(m): 9:38am On Feb 27, 2016
This must be a joke... and they called Jonathan clueless. An economic team with no new player, just the same people that have been there and nothing has improved since their appointment. Emefiele- doing trial and error policies, Adeosun- who doesn't know her duties, Minister of trade and investment- does that one still exist?, VP Osinbajo- wetin concern SAN with economic matters. Nigeria is heading for the rocks with all dis. Buhari needs to go beyond party members to pick credible people that can resuscitate the economy.
Re: Presidency Unveils Buhari’s Economic Team by Nobody: 9:38am On Feb 27, 2016
While I am firmly behind this administration, it is clear that they were more focused on winning the elections and not prepared for governance, the 1st manifestation of that was the manner Saraki became senate president. Nonetheless I hope they now focus all their energies on delivering us to the promised land. They should focus less on what GEJ did or did not do, we all know it was the most corrupt and wasteful administration in history, instead start by by going back to the days of having a national development plan. for instance identifying how many cars you want Nigeria to produce by x, how many tonnes of rice, tomatoes etc, set standards for education and health and then formulate an action plan to achieve it. I would hate to see this government fail but I must say that apart from the war on corruption which is a major positive in it's own right, there seems to be more talk than action, though I acknowledge there is only so much that can be done until a budget is passed.

We seem to have more economists on Nairaland than we actually know of in Nigeria. Dear Nairaland economists opposing the present government, what impact have you made individually in the economy of your local community with your wealth of experience.
