I think his greatest asset is awareness and knowing where to position himself

Mueller would probably go down in history as one of the biggest anomalies the game has ever seen. However like you said a lot of Mueller's abilities are seriously underrated. Awareness, vision, IQ plus his aerial abilities too. I can see why a fantasist like Pep didn't like him ab initio but personally I wouldn't trade him for anyone. What he has done for Bayern and Germany since 2010 is legendary stuff
