Obama made the promise that he would shut Guantanamo bay if elected during his first campaign for office and had been reiterating the same promise since then. Uo till now - just a few months to the end of his Second term, guantanamo bay is still opened, and he has not resigned.

The funny thing is dat those wailers who never supported the idea, who said it will promote laziness, will still be the one to condemn and criticise him for not prioritising it instead of commending him for doing d needful.

While I appreciate the fact that present administration is facing a deluge of inherited problems, the truth is that the 5k stipend was used as a campaign strategy even when it was glaring that the price of oil will continue to decline.

The APC should have known better when the promise was made. Yes Nigerians wanted a change, we want a change based on realistic projections and not wild wishes

In conclusion, I also expected that such a major pronouncement like that should be made in Nigeria. Let our President speak to us here in Nigeria and not from outside the country.

The cost may be high. If well planned and executed, the project can yield more than the cost. That's it can self sustain. Read "Work Projects Authority" [WPA] used by Franklin Deleanor Roosevelt of USA in 1933 during the great depression. More than 50% lost jobs. More others were underemployed. Lots of what the work projects created are still lasting till today. National parks and natural monuments preservations. The nation makes money from visitors till now. Tennesse valley authority.
And many, many more that it will take volume of book to list.

Some idiots writing on this platform need prayers to get some sense! If you promised your child 200 naira monthly stipend while awaiting admission into the university and your earnings from your business was 20k then. If suddenly, your earnings drop to 5k, do you still go ahead with the payment, even to the extent of borrowing to fulfill the promise? No way, you will not! Rather, you should be more concerned with the payment of school fees from the paltry earnings when he gets admission. A reasonable and sensible child will understand and bear with the dad.
