And how are we sure you are not Brabus himself using a fake moniker to get the full picture of all your disgruntled clients?
All Brabus' atrocities are here for all to see so I don't see what gathering information to a private email will resolve.
If you have any issues with him take it to EFCC and let them call all clients here and other forums to testify.
I am sure you will be able to build a bigger case that way.....

May god bless you infinitely. I'm pretty sure some corrupted Limey is behind it grin

I've been saying similar all along. Or a lawsuit since all parties have collectable equity since I'm certain that a counter lawsuit will ensue.

I need to buy even more wood to do pillars and lintel for my small BQ but in 3 weeks I'm sure that I'll buy even more wood to frame the german floor of the main house.

My calculations for 80 X 50 feet external and 35 X 15 feet internal is 30 pieces. Surely after the german floor mayhem, I should be able to find some of that 30 pieces plus the previous forest that I previously purchased that I can use to do the lintel and pillar on the BQ.

Sounds good?

If so what type of wood should I source?

Thanks.

Buy "Odogbo" type.
*Its still a "white wood" but it is stronger
*You can use it three times over (unlike others that you can only use once), Foundation, Pillars/Lintel and Decking
*It is still the same price as the others

I bought 180 pieces, used it and re-sold some of it to those who sold it to me (though at half price) as "tokunboh". grin

I'm glad about the advice you gave the enquirer about Johnny. I'm a believer in helping young people to make a headway in life as they are our tomorrow. I bought a carcass bungalow in Mayfair Gardens Estate in Awoyaya Lekki and I decided to give Johnny the opportunity to handle the completion of the project. Basically, what needed to be done is the rejigging of the internal layout of the building and the addition of a pent-house incorporating the master bedroom and finishing. Johnny really demonstrated a lot of crass ignorance that was quite frightening even to a novice in the art of house building. I just thank God that I was around during the execution of the project otherwise I would have encountered a very serious structural failures. If I have to list the litany of his various errors and incompetence, it will be too long to comprehend. Is it the removal of the steel that supports the ceiling or the wrong interpretation of the architectural drawing to eliminate the ventilation window in the pent-house bedroom or the collapse of the entrance porch which caused a lot of problems for me with the estate Engineer who rightly questioned the competence and integrity of my builder. My wife who is a prayer warrior still attribute the fact that nobody got killed or injured when the porch collapsed was due to the efficacy of her prayers. Come to think of it, I wouldn't have been able to live in the house if somebody got killed during the construction. I told him when I gave him the job that if he's good, I will introduce him to two other guys who have just bought the type of my property but unfortunately, he didn't live up to expectation hence I couldn't recommend him to my friends. I want to make it categorically clear that he (Johnny) did not swindle me like Brabus did to his clients as I did not leave any chance for that anyway, but my grouse with him is that he's not fit for purpose to be called or referred to as a builder. He's damn too incompetent as a builder and as a matter of fact most artisans in Nigeria are not good enough. Perfection is alien to them. I thank God that I've completed and moved into my house. My advice for those of us in diaspora is to create time to go home to oversee your project rather than sending money to friends or family members because if you do it will have a perfidious end.

I stayed off this topic to avoid going into stories that touch. Never thoughtt I will be in a position where I would cut off speaking to someone that close to me. But I had to until I finished what I had to do.

Some parents are of the mindset that they own the air you breath and want to control everything you do. We learn to cut the umbilical cord with the least damage. When it comes to parents and you are Yoruba you can never win and some of them can collect supporters club with lies to people who never wish you well in the first place.

You always have to make sure that someone you are trusting has demonstrated to you that they can be trusted if not try them with little things and use that to decide on your next steps

Thank you for coming here to voice out your experience with Eghosah Johnny...
I am happy to see that others will read this for better decision.
And I am glad you did not have any terrible accident on your site..
I was actually trying to give him another chance by telling Mr. Pally to give his job...
but he messed up so bad that I felt sorry for even agreeing with the man to give him the job...
He still owed the guy more that N1m and since he ran away he never contacted the Client anymore.
I told him if he ever messed-up the job I will make sure he does not get any job on Nairaland again...
and that is what I am doing now.

Good rendering job! I like the groove. Not so many renders can do such a perfect job. Hence the reason I go for PVC groove in larger walls.

Interestingly, a lot of this alternative building solutions are here with us but we don't know their names/technical terms. The pvc groove is pretty similar to Tiles Angle Trim. I'll share pics from an ongoing development later on thread.

It may be worthwhile to have a thread where all the alternative building solutions are discussed. There are lot of these items in Adeniji Market and we walk past them on daily basis.

How did the 'bricklayer' called Eghosah Johnny start on Nairaland?. There was a guy that was building a 4-bedroom bungalow in Benin that Eghosah Johnny supervised and the guy showcased the process of each stage on Nairaland. He must have have handled the carcass of the construction well for the guy and that was how the guy decided to help him by recommending on Nairaland. I started sensing trouble or a fallout between Eghosah Johnny and the guy when the guy started warning him to stay off his project and was even said that Eghosah Johnny was ungrateful.

I do not think Eghosah Johnny can handle any building that is not a bungalow. A bungalow is very simple and iam sure that was what he was handling in his base before he came across Nairaland.

I suspected and he was posting pictures of that project as the work he has handled. No wonder the client warned him. So, i was even charitable saying that the only thing he can handle is a bungalow. He seems it is only a mud hut that he can handled. Has anybody heard what became of the Owerri duplex project he was handling?.
