Do Road Safety Officers carry weapons? There is an armed man wearing FRSC uniform on the road (photo)

Zuby Victor Udemba shared this photo of an armed man in FRSC uniform warning motorists to be careful but didn't say which area. What he wrote below:

"Motorists beware. Road Safety does not carry guns according to laws of Nigeria as of today. This is a suspected robber on the road with a road safety uniform"

Am aware that FRSC have started Arms training since 2014. I also learnt that the purpose of the arms training is to enable tuem carry arms in special operations with the military or in volatile prone areas.
So if this FRSC guy pictured above is not posing with a gone he borrowed from a police or military officer, then he is legally carrying it for special operation
Almost all paramilitary organisations now carry arms oo.
