The members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in Italy
have organised a peaceful protest in St. Peter’s square to meet
Pope Francis on February 28, Sunday.

For the first time in history a major world leader Pope Frances
greeted the pro-Biafran protesters.

He said: “I am greeting the believers from Gdansk, indigenous
people of Biafra, students from Zaragoza, Huelva, Córdoba and
Zafra, the young people of Formentera and the believers from
Jaén.”

Biafrans have organized protests in many countries across the
world but never such prominent officials address the issue of
Biafra.

The Catholic Church is the largest Christian church in the
world.

“Biafrans vowed to continue to protest peacefully anywhere
possible and anywhere necessary until people and world
leaders will follow the good example of Pope Francis to open
up their lips to acknowledge Biafra,” the activists said.

Biafrans announced that they will be stepping out in next few
days for another European protest, this time in London.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration has always
claimed that Nigeria’s unity is a priority for the country.
He said that while peaceful protests are welcome, calling for
the independence of the Biafran territories is against the
constitution.

The declaration of the independent Republic of Biafra in 1967
sparked a civil war that resulted in the death of millions and
the re-annexation of the republic to Nigeria in 1970.
The leader of the IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu was arrested by the
Nigeria secret police since in October 2015. His continued
detention caused a spate in protests.

Pro-Biafrans hold regular marches across south-eastern
Nigeria demanding independence and the release of their
leader.

Welcome to truth! BTW their is no month an Easterner is not killed in the muslim north by dirty almajiris for his faith and ethnicity. Many things that happen in the north goes largely unreported due to the absence of southern media and their conservatism. We wouldn't have heard of the Ese's case if the family were not bold to speak out.

For every reported Ese case there are thousand of unreported cases of abduction of Christian girls by the uncircumsized northern almajiris and the families can't do anything because these fula muslim towel-heads feel they own the country and everybody in it.
