denniece1:[b] Oshoala Seals Win for Liverpool Ladies The Super Falcons forward got her third goal for the Reds in their away win against Arsenal Ladies in Sunday’s Women's Super League game By Shina Oludare https://static.goal.com/1175500/1175572_hp.jpg Oshoala Nigeria international Asisat Oshoala was on target in Liverpool Ladies’ 3-1 win at Arsenal Ladies in the Women’s Super League encounter played at the Meadow Park. Her beautiful finish not only guaranteed them the maximum points, but also ended Arsenal Ladies unbeaten run in the season. Fara Williams opened the scoring with a stunning strike from 25-yards out before 41-year-old full-back Becky Easton bundled in a second for Liverpool. While Natalia's delicate chip pulled one back for the hosts, who were backed by a crowd of 2,061. But Asisat Oshoala's lobbed finish secured the points for the Reds The result gave the defending champions their first away points of the season and they are now only three points behind the second-placed Gunners, with a game in hand. Arsenal are now five points behind leaders Chelsea after the Blues won 4-1 at home to Bristol Academy. Oshoala has played six time for Matt Beard's team since her move from Rivers Angels. Orkpekyandega:This is the most disappointing story of the year. This team came into 2015 with so much promise and it all fell apart. It was a downfall of epic proportion. If b4 the year u told me the women not the men would miss the Olympic games i would have laughed myself silly but now it is a reality. The NFF screwed these ladies and i am totally disgusted. I still hold the belief that with a good coach we can rule the world. |

Hey Guys, Isn't there supposed to be a "fresh" Super Falcons thread. Anyway, the most anticipated news (SUPER FALCONS JOB ROLES) just came in........... Current Nigerian U-17 Flamingoes Asst.coach and Super Falcons legend, Ann Agumanu Chiejine is to be named as part of the New Super Falcons technical/coaching crew. And interestingly, we have The all-time record goals scorer of the CAF AWC and Super Falcons Legend, Perpetua Ijeoma Nkwocha as Head coach. ......................................................................................... PERPETUA NKWOCHA NEW FALCONS COACH Former international Perpetua Nkwocha will soon be named coach of Nigeria women’s team, the Super Falcons, to be assisted by another ex-international Ann Chiejine. One of Nigeria's all-time greats, Nkwocha has bagged her coaching badges at her base of Sweden, while former international goalkeeper Chiejine has been assistant coach at Nigeria’s U17 women’s team, the Flamingoes. The immediate task of Nkwocha and Chiejine is qualifying the Falcons to the African Women’s Championship later this year in Cameroon. Nigeria are the defending champions after they beat Cameroon in the final in Namibia two years ago. The Falcons have been without a coach since the team failed to qualify for the Rio Olympics last year. The broke Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) were mulling hiring a foreign coach, but they shelved this idea when they could not raise the cash to do so. africanfootball.com//news/612214/Perpetua-Nkwocha-new-Falcons-coach |

Seems the earlier news was incomplete. Here's the full version of the news as regards the appointment of a substantive Technical crew for the Super Falcons. Seems the NFF have found an expatriate coach for our girls who will be named soon (shortly before the AWC Qualifers or before the end of the qualifiers). She or he (the FOREIGN COACH) is to be assisted by Florence Omagbemi, Perpetua Nkwocha, Ann Agumanu Chiejine and Bala Mohommed (as Goalie trainer). Florence Omagbemi stands in as Caretaker Head coach of the Super Falcons from this moment till the NFF sort out the contract of the "expatriate coach" most likely before the CAF AWC. ......................................................................................... Omagbemi named Falcons’ coach The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has named former Super Falcons captain and defender Florence Omagbemi as coach of the reigning African champions. The football body approved the choice of an expatriate as head coach as recommended by the Technical and Development Committee. Omagbemi will take charge of the side in acting capacity until the appointment of the expatriate coach. The yet to be named expatriate coach will be assisted by the side’s all-time top scorer and four-time African player of the year, Perpetua Nkwocha, Florence Omagbemi (current interim head), Ann Chiejine and Bala Mohammed as goalkeeper trainer. The football governing body said the appointments are in line with its determination to halt the dwindling fortunes of the senior national women team. The coaching crew's first assignment will be the second round qualifying match of the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations in April against either of the West African foes, Guinea or Senegal. Falcons were given a bye together with Ghana, Ivory Coast, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea in the first round matches of the biennial football showpiece coming up in Cameroon from November 19 toDecember 3. Seven countries will emerge from the qualifying campaigns to be joined by the hosts, Cameroon, for the final showdown. Coach Edwin Okon guided Nigeria to defeat Cameroon 2-0 in the final of the 2014 edition in Namibia. mobi.supersport.com/football/nigeria/news/160217/Omagbemi_named_Falcons_coach |

Thanks for keeping the thread alive. I'm not convinced that an 'expatriate' coach would do better than Nkwocha, Chiejine or Omagbemi. I'll advise the NFF to only offer the foreign coach a 3-yr contract that expires after the 2019 World Cup in France. Thereafter, any of the assistants should be promoted to the head coach position. |

It would also be nice to see the Super Falcons participate in the annual Algarve Cup. The experience would be invaluable to the team for the bigger, main competitions. |

Guys, any news about oshoala, it was reported weeks back that @lfcladies 'reluctantly' accepted an offer from @arsenalladies. @arsenalladies recently released their squad for the new season and she wasn't part of it, Liverpool (on preseason in SA without her) hasn't made any mention of her since then same as arsenal, she also hasn't said anything yet. |

Ini umotong recently signed for Oxford Utd ladies. She's no more with Portsmouth ladies. She's not the only one missing from the 40-woman squad. Other notable absentees: -Courtney Dike -Precious Dede (maybe she's retired) -Sarah Michael (if they called back Rita Chikwelu, wonder why Michael was left out) -Cynthia Uwak (she's still active) -Alaba Jonathan -Tochukwu Oluehi Alaba and Oluehi are Goalkeepers. Though we have 4 goalies in that 40-woman list. (Okeke, Ohieraku, Whyte, and Chichii) Meanwhile, are you saying you'll pick Iniabasi Umotong (a super goal banger for her former side, Porthsmouth ladies) over Desire Ugochi Oparanozie?? NLban: |
