The common rate in Ibadan is about N35 per block laid on average, I'm paying my guy almost double that.

What about the extra value of money sent because he called saying "Apo Gbe, Ko si Nka Nle Fun Awon Boys" even when he's not working on my site. Various gifts over time (have a brand new smartphone in my luggage for him right now). Making sure that I'm not owing him as at when fees are due and that he gets my built in 10 to 20% reward for each successful stage.

I don't need a Supervisor (respect to all Supervisors) but I need actual builder that sets blocks on my site.

l agree with you 100% on the bold, very smart move on your path, with this kind of relationship you have built with them, you will likely have less frictions on site and everybody will play his or her role satisfactorily..

update on mine..... while waiting for pictures to upload.. spent under 1.4m all roofing done now going to next phase plastering and stuff. promise to put pic soon.
