TheGoodJoe:

How can the best achieving coach of the Super Eagles since Coach Westerhoff kill Nigerian football? We reached a stage France had to injure key players to win us.

We beat the Ivorians and put four past Mali. We played a draw game with Catalonia and played 2-2 with Italy. Two days after we qualified for the World Cup.

Coach Keshi rekindled the dead flame of the Super Eagles. He was a blessing.
What is the purpose of having extra players if 11 players are good to go? That's what determines a good coach.
His bench was poo.

But the same coach failed to qualify us for the same Nations Cup. I hope it was not fluke. grin

Guys the much awaited list is finally out.

Coach Samson Siasia has invited 42 players for next month's Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Egypt.

The list released on Thursday afternoon by the Nigeria Football Federation is a mix of 22 local based and 20 foreign based professionals.

Heading the list are Fanendo Adi, Emmanuel Daniel, Sincere Seth, Segun Oduduwa, Chris Madaki, Stanley Amuzie and Aminu Umar who have been handed a call up to the Super Eagles for the first time.

Making a return to the senior national team is Victor Moses who was overlooked during Sunday Oliseh’s era owing to injuries and lack of regular playing time for West Ham United.

Also recalled are former Nigeria U23 defender Chibuzor Okonkwo, Daniel Akpeyi and Aaron Moses.

Others invited are captain Ahmed Musa, Mikel Obi, Ogenyi Onazi, Odion Ighalo, Godfrey Oboabona, Elderson Echiejile, Moses Simon, Carl Ikeme and Efe Ambrose.

Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Prince Aggreh, Chisom Chikatara, Austin Oboroakpo, and Femi Thomas top the list of 22 players from the Nigeria Professional Football League.

However, returnee Obafemi Martins, Chima Akas, Leon Balogun, Rabiu Ibrahim, William Troost Ekong was excluded from the squad that would try the Pharaohs’ for size in the make or break encounter in Kaduna. http://www.goal.com/en-ng/news/4093/nigerian-football/2016/03/03/20951892/fanendo-adi-chisom-chikatara-invited-for-africa-cup-of?ICID=HP_HN_1

Did we have top players for Coach Keshi to give you strong bench? He took over dead chickens and turned them to Super Eagles again.

Imagine asking for strong bench. Look at how many youngsters are coming up bdcause we lackdd stars in the past.

Coach Keshi did not have the NFF support and did not have a contract during the qualifiers. The NFF stopped him from working during he qualifiers by sacking a man without a contract.

In fhe Final game, Musa missed two one on one opportunity and Ike Uche missed one. Omeruo just recovered from injury. Hope Akpan injured.

With all this, we almost qualified but the strikers failed. If yoj loook at the factors, the man over performed. People just fail to say the truth.

The sports writers were the worst offenders. Even worse than the NFF.

Which of the players are you asking for? Coach Siasia is about to shame some of Coach Keshi's haters by inviting Aaron Samuel. Is it Omeruo or Babatunde you are looking for? Is it Leon Balogun?
I have already told you, most players he later brought into the team was as a result of the perceived sacking of his defender and protector just to pacify some people. Keshi think say na only him get sense kwa.

Which sacking? He did not have a contract, he received no money from them, no money to support his coaching crew.

He made the choices that were available to him after the NFF stopped him from using home based players. List the players you are saying he called because of perceived sacking.

Perceived sacking because of being the best since Coach Westerhoff.

Coach Keshi over performed with the factors on ground. The man deserves respect.

People do not value what they have until they lose it.

I doubt you understood my earlier points. Are you implying Nigeria did not have any midfielders apart from the 3 Keshi chose to take to Brazil? I dont understand.

I dont think there is such a thing a Keshi hater or Keshi fan. Every true supporter of the Super Eagles wants the team to win every game even if a Monkey is the Manager, never mind when we have a former hero as a player like Keshi as manager. If we dont in and play rubbish fans will criticise big time. na so e dey be everywhere o!

The problem is Keshi gave too much ammunition to critics with his logic defying selections especially for the Confederations Cup and World Cup! He already somehow managed to forge a winning team for the AFCON in February, so why did he have to change the Squad so much for the Confederations Cup which was only 4 months after by inviting Emeka Eze, Mohammed Gambo, Joseph Akpala?? Am not excited about this list....imagine a top class player that plays regularly and full 90 mins in our of the best league in the world, analougue mangers and administrators of our football does not deem it fit to invite him for a crucial match. i pity this country....the way forward is to employ an european as our national team manager, technical director and nff president.....

I pointed out that first of all, he lost his tactician. Coach Sylvanus Okpala. Second, the NFF said he should not use home based players again which ruled out some of his AFCON players.

That took him to square one and he had to almost start over.

Apart from the armories, he matched the team forward and achieved results. Those who fired their ammunitions, hardly pointed out his brilliant work. Team building takes time and he was getting there.

People kept on hammering selections but hardly looked at the overall results which is harder. I hardly saw ammunitions against Oliseh's selections but look at his AFCON results.

To be honest.... I had to stop at Martins (apart from martins, the others are still relevant to the Eagles). #smiles

Some others like you've mentioned deserved call-ups for this crucial game.

THE BIGGEST SHOCK IS THE ABSENCE OF LEON BALOGUN

Isaac Success and Kinsgley madu are also big absentees.

I think Stanley Amuzie is a left-back also (he's on the list) and maybe explains Madu's absence since there's also Echiejile.

But this team has no dependable right-back on that list. Ambrose could fit in but his best days were at Afcon 2013. He blows hot and cold and is more of a central defender.

This is the exact thing I am talking about. You guys have your list and players you want. You guys are forget that Coaches have the way they play and players they keep tabs on.

There is also lack of familiarity that Coach Siasia, Coach Amunike and Coach Yusuf have to deal with.

This is a firebrigade approach.

Let us judge Coach Siasia and his crew after the game.

Abegi all that na excuses. If Okpala was that much of an influence that without him everything fell apart then perhaps he should have had the job then, not Keshi!

And yes regardless of what NFF said Keshi still took several home based players to the confederations cup, the likes of Mohammed 'miss open net' Gambo, Azubuike 'slow poison' Egwuekwe, Emeka 'who?' Eze, etc lol

No more lack of Presidential backing. I have told you, it takes time to build the team. Look at Echiejile. After he injured, Juwon Oshaniwa took over the left back.

When Echiejile returned, Coach Keshi brought Echiejile back. Echiejile flopped and Oshaniwa took back the place. It is not for contract but rebuilding the team slowly.

Seriously...I no wan dey hear Keshi. The guy did well and messed up the rest if his tenure. The way sentimentality clouded his selections was unreal. I no even wan remember those bad episodes. Which coach takes just a fit first team to the world cup. Look at our bench and you saw nothing. Look at all the scandals with the player selections. Does anyone remember the transfer of Sunday Mba and how Keshi never invited him again after the debacle? Let's banish the memories of Keshi's ugly past abeg.

TheGoodJoe:

I will not tell you. Google works on your browser. Google whether the NFF stopped Coach Keshi from using home based players.

See Coach Siasia's list. That is what they are against.
You see am! If NFF stopped him how come local players still found their way into Keshi's list? grin
