As long as it will make nigeria great...no problem
what is making Nigeria great in all said now for the love of God? When I said this old man has no senses in that cranium of his u ppl say we are wrong. How can I make friends and business with someone who does nt want to see my kids in his house regardless if the kid is a good or bad kid? This is absurd, its as telling me too am nt welcome too, for I represent my kids n my entire family. One thing I still respecr one leader for (Idi Amin) amidst all his cruelty, he has the balls to send the white out of his country. Why is nigeria like a prostitute which can take any nonsense. Back in those days, USA did something like this to the Brazilians, and the Brazilian pay them in their own coin before US readjust. Yet all we can do his Ghana must go! Our fellow west african sister country. It crazy n killing. This Bubu is a dancer and always dancing to every tune played to him. I am really ashamed of this country and the kind of beggers we have as a president. I trust Abacha won't take this nonsense. Back in those days he is the only Nigerian Head of State to tell the US to go to hell. This are men with ball. Bubu shud know Nigeria is a sovereign state that needs to be respected n not respecting or fearing any state. Left to me, if they place such policy against my citizens, maka y, I go take the deal to more receptive country. Na only Quater dey?

At this point, this is the least of pact(s) or agreement we need as a country. Buhari should invest and develop our local carriers first. We can and will never have a national carrier when the local airlines are heavily in debt and in dire need of re-branding. The deal is absolutely questionable. Now ask yourself, has Buhari's numerous international voyages redeemed the image of Nigerians abroad? Nigerians are consistently embarrassed at airports, singled out, treated like shit all in the name of corruption or whatever reason. We arent the worst country in this world, but as the saying ''charity begins at home'', develop your country and the fruits will be visible to the outside world. You dont go to other countries bashing Nigerians or trying to be a Messiah saying we are changing or in the process of change. Another low from this government

And you did not hear that Adeosun & Udoma refused to sign it till Buhari threathened them with sack to sign it?
I read it. But do you think the president's advisers/minister's are always right?not that am saying the president too is always right and should be called to order where he falters. But the truth is that you and I are not privy to that agreement hence it's unfair concluding because you read where the minister's opposed the agreement. I only hope the agreement isn't one sided anyway.

P.s: I didn't know buhari's critics believe saharareporters news too cos that's obviously where you got the story

Everything is subject to attacks and criticism in Nigerian today regardless. There are too many attention seekers competing for the attention of ignorants and low intellects..

Even if the deal was negotiated and signed by God, criticism is still a must with these trolls..
Even if its true

Buhari is keying Nigeria into the Saudi Arabia and Qatari led Sunni Alliance. He has spent a lot of time visiting Sunni dominated countries and only announced that Nigeria will not be a part of their anti-terrorism which they had included us without our consent because of objections raised by Christians and Shiites who warned of the dangers of belonging to Sunni alliance without Shiite Muslim countries involved

It's a democracy, so complaints are acceptable and should be expected. We don't pray to have a one-party state where no one keeps the government on its toes. The government should keep engaging with the citizens. Always be ready to debate policies with superior arguments.

Always rushing to comment without comprehension of the article, because you just want to praise PMB. Rubbish! Its not about PMB but Nigeria's interest

PMB is signing agreements based on Sunni religious bigotry and from a position of weakness

They said you need a sponsor to get a visa.

So how is that a problem for you Mr. Adeniyi.

Or you just want to write for writing sake ?

It is still the same group of drug dealers, prostitutees and criminals who caused this that will be the first to criticize.
Please, read and analyse before you comment. The issues observed are:
1. You are not warned as a Nigerian not to buy tickets without a sponsor. The website has a flat statement on providing visa to Quatar
2. You become aware at the next phase. I would have thought you souldn't buy the ticket without evidence of a sponsor
3. Other countries are listed except Nigeria. If we have no value, why fly from Nigeria?
4. Why sign an agreement with a country that does not even see you as an equal amongst fellow Africans? It looks like a loose-win agreement.
5. The meeing provided an opportunity for Buhari to renegotiate the visa restriction. If he did that, it would have been news. That is the purpose of these travels. To open opportunities for your citizens. It seems he was not aware of the Visa restriction.

Really, why won't you read the visa requirement before applying ?

Every country has a visa policy, the wailing becomes genuine if they completely ban Nigerians from entering Qatar.

If you apply for Visa, ticket is one of the major requirements

e.g South Africa does not take the issue of accomodation very seriously until our brothers go there to cause nuisance all in the name of business. Now, if you don't have proof of accomodation and you have landed in South Africa, you will be sent back home from the airport.

Those are not diplomatic issues.

Quatar is not a tourist centre so you can not claim you left dubai and decide to go on vacation in Quatar.

NB : No Govt will negotiate Visa requirements when there are history of your people carrying drugs etc.

The president knows zilch about economic policies or financial management, those two does & are his ministers. For them to say 'NO' to the agreement meant it was bad.

BASA agreement between Nigeria & Qatar is another way of encouraging dollar rise, because most passengers on that airline are heading Dubai and Asia for business/imports and vacation, one of his unfruitful and clueless junketing.

Smart arse, how do you negotiate from "a position of power" when dealing with a country of just over 2 million people, but with more proven oil reserves than Nigeria, the 3rd largest proven gas reserves in the world, and a GDP per capital of $145,894 (one of the highest in the world)? Switch your brain cells on and tell me who needs the other the most.

Some of you just post for the sake of posting. [s]Qatar is actually doing Nigeria a favour and they should be ones calling the shots with Nigeria on its knees begging for investment. The country doesn't need Nigeria for anything.[/s]

As for the clown, Olusegun Adeniyi and his co-mor0n, Mrs Chioma Okigbo, crying about visa - no stable and rich country would allow Nigerians to travel to their country visa free, unless the country likes scroungers, who will end up snarling-up the whole place.

Forget about comprehension here bro, Try to google and make research about qatar in the past, Nigerians flooded that country in the past and give Nigeria a bad name.. Do you think all this is happening in only Qatar? Most countries don't respect Nigeria why? because past leaders are the problems.. They steal money here and go and invest it or put it in their banks. Go to Dubai Nigerians are not respected.. Go to malaysia, china, etc.. When they see a Nigeria man they have second thought about us cos they believe we are too smart and can have a criminal mind... About Qatar visa, they are still issuing it here all you need is a link to get the visa.. She think she will just go online and get visa.. If Qatar are not issuing Nigerians visa, how does her friend get to Doha?
Cool, I noticed you never traveled abroad from your comment... When you go abroad and see the way Nigerians are treated, chai..... Go to South Africa, an African country, to see the way Nigerians are treated.

Modern public sector management thinking will make the BASA agreement cause the Qatari government to review its policies in that regard. It is diplomacy.

People wey dey inside and want to bring their family in are not getting visa, someone from outside think she can just get visa like dt. I feel when people don"t have someone in dis country, it is hard to understand their laws, rules.
Concerning Buhari visiting, forget dt one o. dt one na visit or excursion. when dy asked him he shld help look into why Nigerians are not issued visa to bring their families in(which has been going on since 2013, it took over a year after my wedding to get d visa sef.Na favour), his reply was "THEY SHOULD GO BACK HOME IF THEY WANT TO SEE THEIR FAMILY." people's expectations were not met as its always been. Melo ni mo fe so.
You don get dis president naa - 3yrs to go. To be sincere, i was dissapointed wt some of his response at dt meeting as Nigeria president.

I just pray and hope God helps Nigeria.

Once you start to think along the lines the country you are doing an agreement with is doing you a favour there is no point in signing then.

So I really don't get why Qatar's GDP or Economic prowess means they don't need any other country. Please show me a country who is an island that needs no other country and can survive on its od ?

What age were you when George Bush Snr raced over to Japan when they were going to kill the automobile industry in the United States.

He was on his knees begging.

Bottom line is you identify your position of strength and use that to negotiate at the table .

That's diplomacy in a nutshell

For all you know Qatar could have their lustful eyes on one if our rare minerals

Think about it
