I have achieved quite a lot in my less than 40 years on planet earth: I have a family of my own I have a terminal degree I am gainfully employed and enjoy my work tremendously I earn a 6-figure annual salary (in the most globally acceptable currency) I own my own home I have a substantial retirement savings I have travelled round the world quite a bit I have the citizenship of the greatest (not necessarily the best) country in the world But in retrospect, my greatest achievement is leaving Nigeria when I did, 12 years ago. I cannot imagine undergoing what people who live in Nigeria as of today go through: death, destruction, poverty, suffering, anger, and excessive tribalism and religiosity everywhere. It is depressing reading about events in my former country on the internet. I wish ya'll good luck in your survival. |

Pidggin:Cold and lonely? Did you read that I have a family? If so, how could I still be cold and lonely? |

A black American cannot live a better life than an African not to talk of a black German where you constitute less than 0.0000000001% of the population. I wish you well living as a slave in another man's land while you rejoice at the tribulations in your real home. Thats a slave mentality. |

Abagworo:Guess you do not get op's point. Sincerely, Nigeria is a hell-hole. Please, try and experience life outside you would understand what the op is talking about. It is beyond your 'slavery', patriotism or otherwise derogatory language. Most of you 'patriots' do not have the opportunity that op has, so do not be jealous. If Nigeria gets better tomorrow, Op and his children educated in Germany would still come back and Lord it over your kids. Have you not noticed that the multinationals and big banks look out for foreign trained graduates? Someone talked about when op is over 65, sorry I have a dependant who worked for 35 years for FGN, today, I practically pay his pension, so what are you talking about? Out there, they take good care, I mean very good care of their 'seniors'. But in Nigeria, hmmm! When some states have not paid regular workers. Who are you to talk about pension? |
