September mommas,here i kom,1st scan say na Sept,but others,baby centre n hospital say it'd August,September would b gr8 cos it's my bday month,but i prefer August,can't wait 2 meet dis lil angel of mine.My new obsession is spending almost d whole day in front of my mirror n admiring my invisible bump,no bump yet,but dat line dat cuts across d navel down has appeared,its so very beautiful 2 behold,i can't wait 4my bump 2 appear,i go rock am like kilode ,am already practicing my hippopotamus n elephant steps,can barely wait 4 dat stage 2come.

Never knew this cord entanglement off thing is something to really worry about until a friend lost her child to it recently....she had passed her due date nd she didn't fall into labour not nd her doc kept assuring her that all was well not until she sought for a second opinion nd was induced at 42 weeks plus...but unfortunately d child didn't make it...so my question is can't d cord entanglement be detected via scan?

Welcome pintoxx. U be august mama. I can relate with looking at ur bump in d mirror all the time. I do that a lot. I evn take pictures send to DH, smile at it and delete them .

Something happened in the bank today that made me smile and feel proud to be preggy . I went to make deposit and I joined d queue although I was seated until it got to my turn oooo. After payin in, a lady called me aside and asked me Weda I dunno preggy women dnt queue in d bank?..... I jst smiled like I ddnt knw oooooo. I'm so thankful and Grateful to God that I too can partake of pregnancy privileges.

Hi mothers and preggers (if there's such a word) I'm new here. Did a home PT and it showed 2 strips. Went to d hospital for confirmation and d doc refused to, saying there's no need as the 2 strips already shows pregnancy. Also, been having a kind of pain in my lower abdomen, not too severe, but a bit uncomfortable. My mum says its not to worry about as she had it for all her pregs while my doc says I shud return in 2 weeks time for a scan.

Been so scared since as this is my first preg and I don't want any complications.

You don't need to worry about the abdominal pain, I had it during my early preggy days and still have it occassionally. You don't need to be scared, you need all the rest and peace of mind you can ever have now. See your doc in 2 weeks time and you will learn as days go by. Look out for your team mates and pay your dues to madam zaynie. Wish you a happy, healthy and stress free 9 months.

I do get something similar to your nosebleeds. But mine is when I wake up in the morning. My throat is stuffed with phlegm and when I spit it out, mucus comes out heavily tinged with blood. Then when I blow my nose too, it is very bloody and sometimes the blood that comes out is huge. I complained to my OB and he told me that due to pregnancy, there is an increase in the blood volume in my body and that's also what causes the hemorrhoids I always have. He also said allergies due to the winter can cause it and he recommended me to buy something called Neti Pot, use it as directed and possibly get a humidifier to keep the air circulation damp while I'm asleep.

I didn't get the Neti Pot cos no store had it in stock around me, but I got the humidifier and it worked for me. I also put some Ori (African Shea Butter) in my nose before I sleep everynight and that helps in moisturizing my nose while I sleep. Talk to your doctor about it first though to rule out anything but I'm sure its harmless (I read its a perk of being pregnant ). Sorry for the long post.

Welcome and congratulations. Different hospitals with different protocols. My hospital would not schedule you for an OB intake until a blood test shows a positive, some hospitals are good with the Urine test you've done. But if you already did the HPT and it was a clear positive and not an evap line, then I don't think you should worry. The test says you're pregnant so relax and enjoy your journey to motherhood. Or you could go to a lab and tell them to do a blood PT on you if you want sha. The cramps are normal. It will come and go.

Teamie, hospital you go please. Let the gynaecologist assure you that there is no problem. It is well with YOU and your LO.

Walk into any lab and request for blood pregnancy test. It's 500naira in my town. That way you convince yourself and put your mind to rest too. If you are pregnant, you will have those pains in the lower abdomen . I had mine and it gradually faded as the pregnancy approached the end of 1st trimester. Best wishes

Mubzay, cord around the neck is caused as a result of tangling from where baby dey do rough play inside. Usually the cord untangles buh sometimes it doesnt. It usually has little cpmsequences in vitro.
From where wahala dey na when baby wan comot. The cord can tighten around the neck and make delivery difficult buh most babies survive it.
Yorubas call them Aina(girl) and Ojo (boy), they believe they are special just like twins.
