Most of the critics here did not contribute a kobo for this event. If my friends from their sweat decide to buy me a bicycle and I accept it, who are you to tell me where I should have spent it better. I am not a member of his church but if the money was legitimately earned by his members and they decide to spend it that way. Why complain?

As if any of us will reject good gift because of its cost when we know it was not stolen or being use for bribery.

I wa born a baptist. I now attend one of the popular pentecostal churches and I can asure u that the church of today has lost a lot of its focus.

How I wish they all can learn frm the compassion Jesus had when he aw his congregation hungry.

Define moderation. And just because someone celebrates their birthday shouldn't make us so quick to conclude they don't help church members. Same Bible also calls a man (and woman) who can't work lazy. If churches made it their duty to channel every single kobo that comes in to needy members, most people would stop working.

You know how Nigerians are; always wanting awoof. Personally I see nothing wrong in this pastor celebrating his birthday this way. And even if I did, that's for him and God to decide and not my biz. Nigerians with all our holier thou attitude have forgotten the part of the Bible that says "judge not so that thou may not be judged."

If the pastor likes, he should celebrate his birthday in a hydro ship (or whatever they are called) under water, so long as he is right standing in God's book, then everyone else is just blabbing

How is having a birthday on a yatch a worldly life? I believe people should read their Bibles regularly so they get to know the real definition of sin. The mentality that a pastor has to be in extreme poverty to be seen as holy is so sad. God is the God of abundance, yet we His children can't show a little wealth? Can the son of a king eat from the floor?

Thank God most of the Nigerians we have now weren't born during king Solomon's era or they'd have sentenced him to hell and back again for his obvious wealth.

Even jesus christ said it. We the children of God should be wary of the rewards we receive on this earth, lest we miss the everlasting reward which is eternal life.

Well, this pastor is over forty years old. Do you know how many of his birthdays he has spent in orphanages? Do you know how much he has done to help people.

Now, your are not seeing the points he made; he did not pay for it. Church money was not used for it. It was paid for by the people who have listened to him and had their lives changed and could afford to celebrate him in a grand style.

He also used the opportunity to plant a church in Dubai. Now there were three different days of worship, praise prayers and teachings if the Word be Dr Murdock, Pst Felix Adejumo, Rev Mrs Funke Adejumo, Prophet Abiara, Pst Matthew Ashimolowo, praise by Israel Houton, Tye Tribbett.

The party was the last thing.

Is the Christian life supposed to be only in sobritude? Are we not suppose to be able to celebrate in grand style? Who are the good things of the world mad for?

Now hear this,the next birthday celebration for this pastor would either be at the White House or on the moon.

But for this pastor, he already has a church in Ilorin, Lagos, Abuja and Dubai. Guess what, he's got a global idea about church ministry. And just incase you wanna know,hes opening new church's in new states soon.

We tend to forget that men of God are just fellow human beings like us. They've got blood flowing in their veins too. I see nothing wrong in the Pastor celebrating his birthday anywhere he chooses to do it.

What I however have issues with is the idea of churches not doing enough for the poor in thier congregation while they are busy acquiring private jets and building mansions.

God is love and whoever cannot love is not of God.

I have had cause to stay in the north west for some business concern. In fact I got angry after two weeks. I got angry at all the big churches down south who claim to be taking the gospel abroad when they haven't gotten hold of Nigeria.
As these churches that have branches in the UK, US and NK if they have a branch or even cell fellowship any place beyond abuja. But they will plant a church in dubai. All the churches in saw doing wonders in the north have my respect, they are really up against the tide, but God will strengthen them.
I nearly changed my denomination after that visit to the north. Where we sent missionaries to Ghana and London and India, while Sokoto doesn't have a viable branch.
