The Fulani problem predates the current government. The worse we ever witnessed in the State took place under Jonathan's regime, when thousands from Naka, Guma and Nasarawa axis flooded Makurdi after being displaced from their villages. Was Jonathan a Fulani man??

wow I served in Jalingo....my ppa is gdss kona and I stayed in mayo Dasa. I also worship at international praise church in donga road.....I really miss that side the only thing is the weather.

Over the years we were made to believe that there are very few northerners on this forum. Well anyway I choose not to believe this notion. Of course there are many northerners(e.g myself) on this forum but for some reasons best known to them, they hardly drop any comment here. They few ones i was very fortunate to have come across on this forum were very intelligent and mature e.g arewafederation, nduchuks etc. Lol, I guess the others have chosen to be mere spectators and not contributors.
Please this thread was solely created for the northerners here and its purpose is for my fellow northerners to identify themselves. So please all troublemakers should stay clear from this thread. If you are a northerner here, please I.D yourself by answering these five(5) questions below;

1• state the particular region(NW, NC, NE) you are from
2• Tell us your state of origin
3• Your best local northern dish
4• What you particularly like about the other two major ethnic groups(yorubas and igbos) in Nigeria.
5• What you think is the major problem facing our north and provide your solution in tackling the problem. This thread is an inclusive thread and all sons and daughters from northern Nigeria are all welcome to contribute in this discuss.

Lalasticlala, mynd44, seun and the hosts of other mods, please it will really be appreciated if this thread is push to the homepage for more participation and further contributions.

Nice contributions coming from northerners. I like the way we are exercising maturity here and ignoring the negatives comments from troublemakers.

As the good people here said; religion extremism, high level of unemployment, illiteracy, ignorance, poor family planning etc are our major problems. I absolutely agree with what you guys said here. I'm very happy that many of us really know our problems and are giving reasonable solutions on how to tackle these problems. I really do believe that in some couple of years to come, some of these our problems will be tackled by God's good grace because there are already some very serious northerners that really want to make a change. And is also high time we begin to look inwards to tackle our problems.
We should stop waiting/hoping for the bill gates of this world to come down to our region just because we couldn't handle/tackle polio, VVF, malaria etc.

Nigeria is a a nice country blessed with so many Wonderful ethnic groups. But some peeps do not just want this beautiful country to prosper

I think the basic problem with the northern region is Illiteracy. Most of us do not want to get 'schooled' and Our leaders ain't really helping matters.

I love the ingenuity of the igbos, they're such a sweet people

Religion: Christianity.

Honestly am bittered with the way ethnic hate is going on because it started politically but has grown into a very serious stage now.

I have quite a number of Igbo friends and Yorubas whom we schooled together and also big business partners.

am working with federal ministry where all tribes are there and this ethnic sentiments only duel mostly here in NL

which we as talented friends need to promote unity not the other way round.


am pained whenever I hear ethnic n religious crises because somebody must die weda we like am or not.


all I pray for my kids and the yet unborn generation is a better Nigeria in the future where we will see ourselves as equal .

To be sincere, the North has a very big problem caused by our elites which is ILLITERACY they only want their kids to be more educated, the worst is they never want even a fellow family member to enjoy it so that they will be served. I de vex!

ask any Northerner if there is any strong, rich and influencial Northern politician or elite that gives scholarship in the previous years if not Kwankwaso and may be two others, THUNDER FIRE THEM..ALL

even the President never gave anyone and he will not give.

To the Yoruba who are jumping on this thread, expressing anything and calling yourselves "northerners", you need your heads checked if you don't know that, considering the timing, this is a thermometer thread created to feel your pulse and get into your heads to know what you think about the real north, the Hausa/fulani now.

Obviously, there wasn't any mention or expression of regrets over the mile 12 incident. But that's not to say that most people on here approve of, condone or encourage any such acts of irresponsibility. People are what/who they are, I've seen good, bad and ugly people among most tribes I've come across, should I then classify everyone else in a category owing to the activities of a misguided few?
