AF Nigeria Premier League 2015/2016 Celtic SCOUTING REPORT: Rabiu Ibrahim, Madu top in Slovakia https://africanfootball.com/bp_images/2016/03/Samm_28_February_580x473.jpg Rabiu Ibrahim by Samm Audu Nigeria internationals Rabiu Ibrahim and Kingsley Madu have been named among the best players in Solvakia for the past year. In a special Instat Scouting Report, Rabiu Ibrahim was chosen among the top midfielders, while compatriot Madu was named one of the star defenders in Slovakia for 2015. The report described Rabiu as “the classic No 10 with a magical left foot” and “The New Jay-Jay Okocha”. The 24-year-old midfielder was scored 88% in passing and 79% for his dribbles, but he could do a lot better with his tackling (55%) and shooting (56%). In the year under review, he scored three goals and provided an assist in 22 appearances for his club Trencin. The suggestion is that he should now retest himself in a bigger league in Europe after failed stints in Holland and Scotland. Leftback Madu was scored 83% for passes, 68% dribbles and 58% for tackles. Last year, the 20-year-old defender played 20 matches during which he netted a goal and made three assists. “He’s a quick defender, who is capable of delivering decisive passes and loves to join the attack. He also works hard in training,” remarked Trencin official Andrej Zacik. He has been linked with several top clubs in Europe including Tottenham Hotspur, PSV and Ajax Amsterdam. His contract at Trencin ends on December 31, 2016. africanfootball.com/news/616987/SCOUTING-REPORT-Rabiu-Ibrahim-Madu-top-in-Slovakia |

Orkpekyandega:I agree that pressures sometimes works to one favour, but what happens when it yields negative outputs, like in the case of Moses, Sterling etc? Ighalo has proven he is better playing alongside average players where he can be outstanding amongst them, or do you foresee him attaining his great recent great records with arsenal? I can logically deduce that Ighalo is solely motivated to be sublime by the compulsion and gratification of signing for a top club. Once that is achieved, the Ighalo you knew as hardworking and resolute about the evolution of his football skills might begin to jettison such mindset. thus, inducing playing retrogression. It is just a conjecture averment anyway, not an affirmative one. |

blueto:Its only when he fails to shine for a Club better than Watford that we can conclude that......... @the bolded. I am not a magician neither a prophet who can predict correctly whether he can maintain his good form when he finally signs for Arsenal or any other Club. However, as a 'positivist' and super fan of our football internationals, I expect him to even do more, when he finally leaves Watford. Hope he proves me right. |

Arsenal Fan Ahmed Musa Vows Never To Sign For Tottenham Hotspur https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/82049Musa1.jpg Arsenal fan Ahmed Musa has said, tongue in cheek, that he will never sign for Tottenham Hotspur as he is aware of the rivalry between the two London clubs. The Nigeria international has been consistently linked with a switch to Spurs, especially when he was on the books of VVV Venlo in Holland, but the White Hart Lane outfit failed to firm up their interest with an official bid. “I’m a fan of Arsenal! How could I go to the camp of the worst enemies of Arsenal ? But in fact, the main reason is different, ” said Musa to championat.com. “I was then 19 years old, I have not approached objectively by the level to Tottenham, and I did not want to wander a few years on the loan. “ I have never regretted that I eventually moved to CSKA. ” The Super Eagles skipper was linked with the likes of Manchester United, Southampton and Leicester City in the winter transfer market. Teammate Hints Odion Ighalo Not Receiving Enough Service https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/17453Ighalo.jpg Super Eagles attacker Odion Ighalo’s goal drought extended to seven games across all competitions after he failed to find the net as Watford lost 1-0 to Premiership leading Leicester City at the Vic on Saturday night. Reflecting on the defeat to the Foxes, Morocco national-teamer Nordin Amrabat has suggested that Ighalo has not been receiving the kind of services he used to get in earlier matches and stressed that the Hornets have to improve in the final third. “We have a lot of quality - Ighalo and Deeney are both top strikers - they play in front and we try to feed them and give them balls, but today we were a little bit unlucky,” said Amrabat to Watford’s official webpage. “ We have a good team spirit but if we improve our play in the last 30 metres of the pitch then we can create more and I think we will take a lot of points in the last weeks.” Prior to Ighalo’s recent dry spell in front of goal- his longest since the season started- he did not score in his first four matches of 2016 against Man City, Newcastle, Southampton and Swansea City before ending his drought versus Newcastle United on January 23 in the Premier League. Last season, the former Udinese and Granada man did not score for eight games in a row in the Championship before experiencing a purple patch that saw him hit target 17 times in 19 league games. Eddy Onazi Lacking Match Fitness Ahead Of Crunch Tie With Egypt https://www.allnigeriasoccer.com/football_pics/50023eddy.jpgEddy Onazi’s inactivity for Lazio in the Italian Serie A should be a cause for concern for the Super Eagles handlers ahead of the national team’s African Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures with Egypt later this month. For the fifth straight game, the former My People ace failed to get match time as Lazio were held to a 1-1 draw by Joel Obi’s Torino on Sunday in the 28th round of matches. Of the 11 matches contested by the capital team since the start of this year, Onazi has featured in only two of them, lasting the distance against Carpi and Napoli. Bringing the statistics to life, the defensive midfielder has appeared in 13 out of a possible 40 games in all competitions for Lazio since the start of this season and has missed 67.5 percent of the team’s games. The 23-year-old has racked up 929 minutes of game time this term, meaning he has been on the pitch in only a quarter of the total minutes Lazio have been involved in action. Orkpekyandega:@underlined, that is it, why being subjective in your approach? an objective mind will promptly accede that Ighalo, following his recent and current mode of playing is not yet fit to play for top clubs. we have Iwobi and some Nigerian young lads who are still struggling to attain first team football now, so how do you infer that Ighalo can become an abrupt success at Arsenal? |

Orkpekyandega:That does not mean he lacks match fitness for the Egypt clash. National team football is different from Club football. So long as he is not injured and reports to camp early enough like the other players, then he is good to go. Eddy Ogenyi Onazi is still our best DMF option. He will not play the Kaduna leg though due to match suspension. |

Gabon 2017 qualifier: Nigeria vs Egypt – Eagles can handle Salah – Onazi https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Onazi.jpg By: Chijioke Ezeali •Says midfield partnership with Mikel is solid enough Lazio midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi is confident that the Super Eagles can handle Egyptian star man, Mohammed Salah and his Pharaohs teammates when both sides clash in the 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifier later this month. Salah has been in a very rich vein of form since his return from injury and at the weekend inspired Roma to a comprehensive 4-1 win over Fiorentina with a brilliant brace to hand new manager, Luciano Spalletti a seven game unbeaten run. Salah will lead the Egyptians to Nigeria for the first leg of the double-header clash in Kaduna on March 25 before hosting the Samson Siasia led side in Alexandria on the 29th. Onazi understands the challenge that confronts the Eagles and he is ready to help put smiles on the faces of Nigerians. ‘We know Mohammed Salah very well and can handle him,’ the 23-year-old revealed to SportingLife. ‘The Egyptians have other good players like Bassem Morsi who scored a hat-trick against Chad and the Arsenal guy, Mohamed El Nenny but we’ll be ready for them. ‘Personally, I’m 100% fit and have been training very well and can’t wait to put on the colours of Nigeria.’ Onazi, who was included in the 43-man squad to play Egypt by interim manager Samson Siasia alongside Chelsea vice-captain Mikel Obi, is delighted with his midfield partnership with the former Lyn Oslo star. ‘Mikel is a natural leader and I enjoy playing alongside him – hopefully together we can keep the midfield solid and make it difficult for the Egyptians to score,’ he added. Nigeria trail Egypt by two points in Group G after beating Chad 2-0 and drawing goalless against Tanzania. http://thenationonlineng.net/gabon-2017-qualifier-nigeria-vs-egypt-eagles-can-handle-salah-onazi/ |

BATTLE AGAINST THE PHARAOHS: Siasia gets Egypt’s tapes Posted By: Ade Ojeikere https://thenationonlineng.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/Eagles-train-June2015.jpg •Eagles’ coaches study Pharaohs’ vidoes •NFF perfect logistic details Super Eagles players would not confront their Egyptian counterparts blind folded following the efforts made by chieftains of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to secure the video tapes of the Pharaohs. Consequently, the NFF technical committee gave the team’s chief coach, Samson Siasia copies of the tapes that they have just as they duplicated them to give to body’s Technical Director, Shuiabu Amodu to peruse. Indeed, the NFF chiefs are leaving no stone unturned in their quest to ensure that Nigeria beats Egypt in the first leg game slated to hold inside the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna from 4pm. Already, the NFF have literally relocated to Kaduna to monitor how the stadium complex and playing pitch are been redesigned to meet the international standard with emphasis laid on security before, during and after the game to avoid a situation where the egyptians experience any unsportsmanlike conduct which could neccessitate reprisal attack on the Nigerian contingent when they head for Alexandria for the return game on March 29. Interestingly, those who should know at the Glasshouse in Abuja informed Sportinglife on Sunday night that Eagles’ foreign legion have been directed to fly straight to Kaduna on March 20, while those who have their ticket routed through Abuja should arrive in the country on March 19, where they would be taken to Kaduna the next day by road. http://thenationonlineng.net/sodje-siasia-knows-he-cant-fail/ |

Things Samson Siasia Needs To Do Things Samson Siasia Needs To Do Biyi Akangbe By: Obiweluozo Martins With the news about the resignation of Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh following hostilities and bridge of contract by the NFF (Nigeria Football Federation) as the main reason for quitting his coaching position. However the NFF went ahead to appoint a replacement in the person of Samson Siasia after experience Coach Shuaibu Amodu turned down the chance to return to Super Eagles hot seat citing person reasons. On the eve of Samson Siasia’s appointment, he said he took the job as an honour to his fatherland and for Nigeria’s interest. If Coach Samson Siasia tenure have to be on the interest of Nigeria and football nation as a whole, there are key things the newly appointed gaffer need to do to better the performance of his predecessor Sunday Oliseh. SoccerNet Nigeria highlights these things Siasia must do on the Interest of Nigerian Senior National Team. RESTORE THE ATTACKING LUSTRE The Super Eagles of Nigeria is known for its attacking flair and swashbuckling style of play but of recent the team have been lacking firepower uproot. The forward line has been misfiring as the game against lowly rated Swaziland with due respect produced only 2 goals in between 180 minutes played. That goals scored in 2 games against such an opposition shows how the Eagles have struggled of recent in attack going forward. In the 1990’s and in the Atlanta 1996 when the Eagles put fear in the heart of opponent and tore defences apart with their directness in the final third, it was a great combination of forward line with strict attacking player like Victor-Ikpeba – the Prince of AS Monaco Nwankwo Kanu – Papillo and Daniel Amokachi – the Bull in attacking 4 – 3 – 3 formation with great supply coming from the deep zone (midfield). The previous coach (Oliseh) talked about the need for mobile players in attack to aid mobility in transition, so therefore Siasia must look for with mobile players with the best of combination to make the difference. Player like Isaac Success, Imoh Ezekiel, Victor Moses and Abiola Dauda would fit the billing in order to instill fear in the opponent of the Super Eagles especially against Egypt. MIDFIELD CREATIVITY The midfield have always seems to lack creativity over the decade as the Super Eagles have scored and won important games as a result of individual brilliance of players like Ikechukwu Uche, Ahmed Musa and Peter Odemwimgie, but the fact remains that the Super Eagles must put an end to its long midfield dilemma. The previous gaffer before recently resigned coach Oliseh in the person of Stephen Keshi, the major problem of his team was to find the third man whose main job will be to link the attack to the midfield. With a potent partnership of John Obi Mikel and Ogenyi Onazi the third person was sought after by the Big Boss with countless invitees to no avail. Hope Akpan, Sunday Mba, Fegor Ogude, Nosa Igiebor were all tested without a positive outcome. Even little experienced Ramon Azeez was entrusted into an unfamiliar role to curtail the midfield search for a third man but the young Azeez faltered. Samson Siasia seen to like find a likely answer as the partnership of Mikel Obi and Joel Obi was swift and dynamic in his early day in Eagles. Nowadays he have more option as players like Chuks Aneke, John Chibuike, John Ogu and Rabiu Ibrahim are up and ready to man the position to help lift the burden and focus off the shoulder of long lasting midfielder John Obi Mikel. There is an urgent need to explore the attacking midfield position at the maximum so that the creativity from the middle can enhance the Eagles procession to the final third in attack. CAPTURE FOREIGN BORN TALENTS https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/590x/GettyInages-463883688-561324.jpg Jordon Ibe, one of the key foreign born talent still in Nigeria’s reach The fact that Nigeria got talent home and abroad is there for all to see, but the major problem is Nigeria’s lack of organization and laze affair attitude towards taking into recognition our range of talent pool and capturing them early enough. As the saying goes a stitch in time says nine, so is the case as regards to our foreign born talent. The Super Eagles have an unbalance chemical equation in the defence line as it seems at every absence of Kenneth Omeruo and Godfrey Oboabona we begin to reshuffle with low key partnership in the defence line. Samson Siasia yes a good scout when it comes to young talent but need to scout and identify this young talent with immediately plans for approaching them. We have the chance now not when they become super stars and regulars at club level than we begin to wriggle with the favourite nation for the players. Time to act is now and it must be done fast. The ease with which we accepted Jordon Ibe decision went a long way in telling the player how much he was needed by Nigeria but a persistent in and out checking come on will tilt the youngster’s decision in our favour especially now he is out of Liverpool’s first team over the week for many reasons. MANAGE THE PRIDE OF THE PLAYERS https://cdn.dailypost.ng/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Siasia-1.jpg Samson Siasia must ensure team uniformity by managing the pride within his team. Samson Siasia as always and during his playing days have been attested to be a man of discipline, he comes early to training and obeys training norms and schemes under his coach then and will be willing to discipline his team but with the recent ouster between the players, the coach and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ranging from one on one outburst or payment of match bonuses the coach needs to help calm down the atmosphere to ensure the Eagles start on a clean sheet. Cordial relationship will be vital especially in his return mission with the Super Eagles. Siasia needs to manage situations with keen interest. In a big team and a National team like Nigeria there are bound to be ego especially as the country is renowned with top players in the game, it will be candid to settle the arena and manage the pride of the players to great effectiveness, previously Siasia felt out with Enyeama and Odemwimgie leading to failure to qualify for 2012 African cup of Nations. Also in the Olympic in 2008 there was an incident with John Obi Mikel but the new Super Eagles manager (though on Interim basis for now) needs to pile low if, it is really on the interest of Nigerian football. http://www.soccernet.com.ng/2016/03/things-samson-siasia-needs-to-do.html |

However Siasia who has concerns over the weather in Kaduna which he perceives as unfavourably for Nigeria stars coming from Europe need not bother much as the last few days has been cold in the city. Orkpekyandega:Yes! He proved himself in the midst of average players that are daunted to play to his style football because they percept that he is a prime considerate when it comes to converting their chances. In arsenal, the players are purported of not paying strict adherence the instructions of the coach! You have a 'superb' player like Alexi Sanchez who is not very concerned about trying to get the ball to the striker to score. players like this are ranked as 'fabulous' and they what to maintain that fabulous status by scoring goals at the expense of passing the ball to the prime striker to score. At the end of the game, the prime strikers gets little or no chances to score. but as a prime striker in Watford, all other players plays to your favour because the have nothing to prove, unlike in arsenal were virtually every attacking player wants to score goals in other to prove himself, thereby, forebearing the prime striker as the main source of goals. I watched Ighalo against Chelsea. it took him the latter phase of the game for him to be able to convert a chance amongst other copious chances he recorded against Chelsea, supposing he was playing for Arsenal at that time, I assume he would have been promptly substituted following his failure to convert formal chances. Please, try to fathom my view. Arsenal's style of play may not be suitable for Ighalo. Apologises for the deferred reply, I was later deprived of internet access yesterday. |

blueto:I share similar opinion. Christian Benteke comes to mind. Villa was forced to play for the Prime striker Benteke. It worked. Benteke was their hit-man. He got to Liverpool and Rodgers initially tried to force Liverpool to play for him, Benteke (a style they are nt used to). It didn't work. Benteke was relegated to d bench u know the rest of the story for Liverpool this season. |
