simply agree that this lawyer being power minister knows nothing about power,and sabotage have been there for over sixteen years but some people said it is not sabotage but kworopshon that is holding the power sector.

Some of you folks are just impossible. Can't you just stop for a second, reboot your thinking and consider the FACTS. If you ran a business will you depend on only one source of raw materials, one production process and one customer. Is there any nation in the world depending on only one source of energy or one location of its power plants. Is it strategically or economically prudent. Are we resilient or weak as a nation by this arrangement. It is pipeline vandals today. What if it is foreign invaders tomorrow. Are we that daft.

I gave an example a while ago. It was planned that Geregu power plant in Kogi taps gas from Escravos in Delta through some 700 kilometres of pipelines. Is that wise when you consider that Kogi state has un-exploited coal deposits and borders Enugu state with proven coal resources. That will be some 300 kilometres of rail-line to convey the coal. If not for politics and sentiments and the attitudes you guys continue to promote Geregu will be working by now. Is it an issue of coruption so widely touted by this government - no. It is an issue of sentiment, an issue of structure. Nigeria is the way it is because sentiments beclouds objectivity.

The person who took the decision for example to place a gas plant in Kogi cannot be charged for corruption but has damaged the country even worse than a corrupt man. That is why in Nigeria nothing works. From rail, to refineries, from schools to customs services. Every decision is structurally deficient.

Good one... The problem is Nigerians are always ready to judge & not many of them got a solution to the problem. Can't imagine seeing a post that cos Buhari decided to fight tompolo ,so we should expect an healthy pipeline. We should leave a problem unsolved because a greater problem lies ahead of it... Funny

. this was the same excuse the previous govt gave but APC were lambasting and lamenting, now they are in power giving the same excuse, if every govt gives this same excuse we would never have light.

Precisely. Excuses (by all governments past and present) are a sure sign that ideas are lacking and that your so called Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies is just a joke. The evidence is clear. We rely too much on oil and gas. The people blowing up pipelines know this. Just as terrorism thrives on publicity, pipeline vandalism thrives on dependency. Everyone from government officials, oil service contractors, oil companies and vandals potentially profit from sabotaging these assets. So what you do as a right thinking government is that as eagerly as you go after the vandals you also actively spread your risk. You begin to de-invest from the region, from the that source of energy so that in years to come the price of gas won't hit you, acts of sabotage won't cripple you. When the vandals know that you won't cry over their acts and won't bother to repair the pipes for months on occasion of dependency, they will fade away.

But we are so driven by this maddening thirst for oil and gas and so ensnared by this ethno-geocentricism that I would bet that the next power station built will be a gas fired one located a gazillion miles away in Timbuktu.

y don't we criticise sensibly, d cause of epileptic power supply is d vandalization of pipe lines. nw let me say ar u all daft or senseless to notice DAT dis vandalism is done by Nigerians and nt buhari and his ministers. if u want electricity tell ur brothers to stop VANDALISM. Shikena. Thank God I leave close to EGBIN power PLC in ikorodu, and we get at least 16 hours power supply everyday even when Nigerians are complaining.

Its really funny and pathetic that when APC goons were busy vandalizing the gas pipelines, you people blamed the PDP/GEJ government for its inability to safeguard the pipelines using the govt security agencies, now why are you not tasking the APC govt on using govt security agencies to safeguard the pipelines.

First to do no dey pain well well...na when you are at the receiving end you go know how far.

2011, APC used Tambuwa to undermine PDP zoning arrangement...PDP cried, APC laughed;

2015, PDP used Saraki to undermine APC arrangement...PDP laughed, APC wanted to burn down the country;

2014 - 2015, APC goons vandalize gas pipelines to show Nigerians that GEJ/PDP cannot fix the power sector even when it's obvious GEJ/PDP was on the right track for the first time in Nigeria's national live (Fahsola ascertain this few weeks back);

2015 >, APC govt spokesperson said "some people in Bayelsa State vandalized the gas pipeline....";

Interesting times ahead...

This is is what I loaded some days ago...if u look at carefully u will see its just 340 kw units , it was previously 592 before the increment ..341 can't take me more than half the month ..I will get a consumption print out today and show u ..

Your bill reflects the new tariff @ #25.789/kw alongside the fixed charge of #750 which shouldn't be there. My current bill, even though not prepaid is based on kw rate of#14.7 as it used to be but the estimated consumption was very high. In your case, you were not suppose to be charged using the new tariff because the Senate suspended the implementation. For those of us on estimated bill the tariff did not change but they manipulated the estimated quantity consumed. May God bring permanent solution to this crisis.

Fortunately for Nigeria I have an idea to solve this problem

lay the pipe line on the road path so that it can easily be watched or subsea pipeline systems
before u shout I have done a project on this and will forward if need be

With those pipe lines passing the bushes there is no way we can save guard them completely
It's an expensive project but desperate times calls for desperate measures

So if a pipeline gets vandalised, the roads will ultimately be closed till repairs, otherwise people may be roasted as a result of fire incidents.
Do you think vandals can't do their activities in the dead of the night?
Again, did you consider the cost of laying the pipelines again, and the fact that that huge amount needs to be deployed into infrastructural development?

My post clearly stated moving away from GAS POWERED PLANTS to those powered using coal or by turbines powered by flow of water(dams).
You seem like an illiterate that has a very low grasp of knowledge.
There is no movement from gas anytime soon,gas is the future for energy security and climate change control.Coal is going out of fashion. Even the Uk closed it last coal mine this year.The closet option to gas is nuclear which we are not ready for yet.

It is not "has" but "have". You use has when you talk about one person or item. Eg. He has done it again. Also, you use have when two or more items or persons are involved. Eg. 1.They have what it takes to foot the bills 2.Emeka and Kunle have paid their dues.

Note: This only applies for pronoun and noun. Out of this context, you have to consider whether it is first person singular, second person plural, etc. before knowing which to use.

In summary, your sentence should read: "Simply put, Fashola and Buhari have failed woefully ..
"

Thank me later grin

Thank you boss ..
