oohhh 290x vs 390 is a foregone conclusion . 390 destroyed it. i cant remember the link. An amd top engineer confirmed it, they made tweaks to the hardware to enable the 390 out perform it despite having less shader processors . no surprises.The video at least should give you an insight .cheers

This contradicts the fact that the 390/390X also shares the same GCN 1.1 architecture with the 290/290X. I don't trust the results on AoS in that video the disparity to high my guess is DX12 wasn't turned on in that test. Another AoS benchmark will be good to compare results.

This thread is clearly about the game you're currently playing, how the heck do you expect me to move individual posts that are not about the topic? I ain't Merlin. Y'all have your PC threads in the gaming section, carry your discussion there. You've already derailed plenty.

Heatpipe, you don start again, abeg carry yourself to the PC threads.

Finally playing the witcher 3, pretty tight graphics and dialogues, seems I'm gonna be playing this for a long time.

It's interesting to know AMD had this tech 4yrs ago. AMD cards have always had raw power(that I know). If NV doesn't answer with Pascal (that doesn't include a driver workaround), I'll be digging out my 290X' CF ( somehow I'm glad I didn't sell them) and selling the Titans. The demand for AMD card will increase if NV doesn't respond with similar architecture in Pascal; owners will be flogging GTX's at ridiculous prices.

AMD's known for their less efficient cpu's compared to Intel so I guess that's how they roll.

Its rumoured that Nvidia tried to stop oxide from releasing the benchmark for ashes of singularity sef. The dirty games they play.

Kudos to AMD having the upper hand. They always been in the forefront of new tech bringing HBM in the Fury.

This my current rig was built 6 months ago. its a stop gap rig. i am waiting for amd zen and intel 10 core broadwell cpu to come out so i can do a system overhaul by the end of year. slapping in 2 Polaris 490x gpu when it comes out and am ready to rock occulus rift at 4k at 90 fps with 0 latency..Nvidia needs to respond to amd async.The issue nvida has is that they went for quick success, while amd invested in futuristic architecture and API. they smartly made sure consoles use their gcn. Also vulcan uses mantle api as well.Even dx12 is similar to mantle.So as you can see the gaming industry in the upcoming years is built on similar blueprint as AMD api's.Smart thinking...

Get dragon age inquisition,shadow of mordor is a very dull and repetitive game.

Totally lose track of time and myself playing Bioshock Infinite on Xbox even though I wasn't interested when it first came out in 2013... Does anyone know a cure for game fever?

Got rid of the Titan SLI and resurrected my 290X CF with a 1440p monitor. At the moment, Crossfire isn't supported but may be at release.

With one 290X OC'd to 1110Mhz Core + 1325Mhz Mem with +13mV on core voltage - I get an average of 70Fps all maxed out (ignore the window mode on, had to go window mode to use snip tool)

have you tested the latest crimson driver. i am having issues using vsr on it. when i switch the vsr toggle it goes back to off. its crimson 16.3. it gives 26 percent boost in hitman 6. i really need this to work. i cant stand 1080p. without my vsr i cant upscale to 4k.plus vulkan rt support and other cool features. nvidia shillsss are all hating on amd. its our time to laugh

Yes I'm on 16.3. However, I didn't find a hitman profile on it so couldn't try crossfire on hitman (even though AMD website said it comes with a profile). The game won't even start with DX11 selected and it had random crashes in the training missions using DX12, so I got a refund from Steam. However, using the benchmark tool within the game DX12 had an average of 2FPS...meh!

If you have tried this, I'd suggest using DDU to uninstall the driver and re-install and try VSR again, mine works, no problem.
