Ogun State has a lot of potential. Another huge source of revenue could be that Ofada rice with its less starch and the ease required to cook it. If the government invests in the farming of that rice, and proper sifting of it. It could bring in several billions a year. It is perfect for international markets with its low starch. I just hope they have not sold off all the land out of today's greed.

Very true. That rice is very good for people with diabetes. So imagine if it is well marketed, clean and packaged. Multi billion dollar industry on that alone. It will sell very very well abroad especially with the health and fitness group which is a multi billion dollar industry.

OP

You visited a place, that's fine.
But for the purpose of education, what have we to learn from this visit?

Tell us the visit purpose, how the place looked like? How many hours it took you to get there, what are they doing there, is the company doing well, what's the challenges being faced by the company etc

That's the purpose of education, not just making Nairaland front page and posting no speech images

some people feel discouraged to write because of the 'sabi sabi' people here. you write an article and they begin to insult the op due to his/her grammatical stumble.

@op you would have highlighted the importance of your visit. For your information its no longer michelin plantation, michelin sold 4 of its plantation in Edo, Delta, Ondo and Ogun to SIPH in 2008. This plantation and its factory is well managed with 24hrs power supply for its over 2000 staffs nd dependants. Our govt must encourage investors to go into agric sector with this type of model that will create jobs from planting to processing nd export to earn foreign exchange.
