2yrs,4months old Neapolitan Mastiff (Working Type) available for sale. He is basic-obedience trained. He is athletic and capable of surprising bursts of speed. He's intelligent and learns fast. A calm dog unless aroused. He must be on-leash when out in public because he tends to be bothered by sudden,strange loud sounds and he may react by trying to retreat from the sound or shift into defense mode(He was never trained or socialised till he was 9months old). However,he never backs down anywhere,if challenged by a man and he attacks with intense ferocity. Within familiar territory(home) he's a very good guard. He loves to tug and has serious article(ball,stick or tyre) drive. His fight drive is very intense. Reason for selling: Owner always wished he had him has a pup and raised him in his own way according to his own philosophy at the crucial growth stages. He has a pup from him now and wants to do just that with his offspring but can't afford to keep both now.

His basic obedience is complete. He is a very stable working and guard dog.

He is a must have security dog in my own opinion.

Imagine you want to sell-off something of yours and someone from nowhere came and said bad about that in front of the buyer, tell me, how will you feel?

If you want to correct him I think that should be done privately, the price and everything can still be modified.

I believe we should have a standard, if you are selling a pure bred dog say it, and if its an hybrid equally state it. so that any buyer can know what they are getting into. I had my reservations too, looks more like a Nepo/Corso mix.

If you come out plainly and say what you are selling is pure bred or mixed and truthful about it., no one will bad mouth your market.

First,I answer to no one on the purity of my dog and I stand behind my word on anything I put forward. You should educate yourselves,talk less and listen more. Idleness is the bane of people around here. Do you respond to every advert you see on billboards on the road or that you hear on radio or see on TV? I see all sorts of dogs being put up all the time. If the dog is not my type of dog or I may not even need a dog at that time,I simply ignore and move on. If I'm interested,I'll talk to the person who placed the advert,ask the relevant questions and if negotiation works out,I buy.
For those who wanna correct me on my price, it's not up to you. Does it occur to you that I might have sold dogs even at a price higher than that before? I have someone on this dog,at that price. He can afford it and he likes it but he's inexperienced when it comes to handling a dog he didn't raise from puppy-hood and his wife's scared. When you see a dog you can't afford,simply ignore and walk on. To begin to question the seller on his price is sheer stupidity. And for the geneticists in the house who think they know Neos cuz they are used to seeing overdone,all wrinkled-up, webbed and splayed feet,ectropion-plagued show specimens on posters,the truth is you don't know! And if you think you know the true Neapolitan Mastiff more than I do,then you must be a Neo yourself. I have tons of pictures of working type Neo like this from rustic parts of Italy. What you consider pure Neo,I wouldn't accept as a gift. I know dogs too much to shout silly choruses with an uninformed crowd,quite easily given to mass hysteria.
The friend of mine who posted this dog here on nairaland has seen him in flesh and wants it. I advised him against it,not cuz the dog isn't good but for his need and lifestyle,the dog won't fit in. He simply put it here as a gesture on my behalf. Left to me,I don't do these dog forums (except one or two where a few of us working dog people have healthy discussions and exchange ideas)cuz I've come to learn that finding one reasonable person on these forums is like searching for evidence of intelligent life in Jupiter.
I'll leave this here with the hope that you've learned a lesson or two. And if you haven't,well,there goes another hopeless case.

I wanted to buy the dog, but then he advised me to take an APBT because thats what suits my need now. I might have to post videos of his working dogs for some of you here.

Nicely written, searchcorp. It baffles me on nairaland how guys look at a picture of a dog and just conclude its not pure. The lot of people here know close to nothing about genetics, they only judge from how it looks (phenotypic ratio) and that is just sad. U know nothing about the genetic composition of the dog u just saw doesnt make u conclude straight away. It could be pure, while u r thinking its not. Phenotype = Genetic properties+Environment. When an animal is bred in an environment that its not its natural habitat (mostly temperate region), the phenotypic conformation may change a bit. This does not in anyway affect or reduce the genetic properties of the dog. This can be confirmed if u conduct DNA tests or Protein Loci analysis. Lets stop attempting to spoil other people's business either on purpose or not. U do not just see someone's dog picture up for sale and start degrading it for not being pure just because it doesnt please your eyes or match the phenotypic opinion your eyes are accustomed to on google (when you know nothing about the genetic composition). Help build the naija market and let our businesses boom *smiles*. Av a lovely day folks

There's a picture frame added here of two pups,sired by this dog,by different dams. One at 5months and the other at 9weeks. Do you see how they both (despite being from different dams) bear close resemblance to their sire?
Check the pic in which he sits side by side with his daughter. Do you see she's a replica of her sire?
At no time does a cross-bred dog reproduce himself! I won't bother you with the intricacies of Genetics here.
There's a dog held on a lead in another picture(with a white guy standing there)That dog was bred in and is still in the UK. Both parents of the dog are KC registered and their parents too.
There's another picture in a somewhat black and white format of two dogs that appear to be engaged in a play-fight. Those belong to a breeder in Italy. Still,there's another one on a lead,with handler in black pants,again,picture taken in Italy. Compare their features to that of my dog. What do you see?
