My Eskimo Is Too Aggressive, How Can I Stop This by Nobody: 4:09am On Jun 20, 2021
I have a 5 month old Eskimo. She’s loving and all to the family but won’t let anyone near my door step not to mention my house. She’s supposed to be a pet dog but I really don’t know her problem.

She would go after anything twice her size, Pets, Children, Adults! So I thought I need to socialize her more so I started taking her on walks every morning and evening but that seems to get her more angry.

This evening I took her on a walk as usual, it was inside the compound and thank God for this. Their where children playing downstairs and when I took her down they all had to go indoors because they know she’s crazy. After doing her business I was taking her back inside, their is this kid that kept calling her so she charged at this child but the leash held her back. I don’t know how she twisted her neck and slipped through her collar and ran after this child.

I called her back severely but she won’t listen, this child ran but my dog was hell bent on attacking her. At some point I called the child to run towards me and when she did I waited for my dog with a huge stick and was going to hit her with it but missed! At this point my dog got scared and ran under the stairs, went their and picked her up and took her back in.

She didn’t bite the child, but the child hit her head somewhere while running and it’s swollen. I went to see the child and her parents but her parents are not around. I have decided not to take my dog out again until I get a Harness leash so I know she can never slip through.

Early socialization is key in dog training .
Just keep socializing d dog with a good leash.
She'll come around soon.

Train her more while making it known to the dog that you are the alpha, be dominant and watch him calm down.

Okay, she certainly knows am the alpha so she obeys me, stay when I say she should stay. But when she's outside or someone new comes around she goes crazy and won't obey a single command, she won't even answer her name or look at you except you draw her attention by tapping her repeatedly.

Always tighten ur dogs collar any time u wanna take her on a walk ( not too tight and not too free).. same happened to me one morning.. my dog slipped off his collar..but thank God he is so scared of my voice.. he stood still till I walked up to him.. socialisation is cool too.. I have stopped taking mine on a walk too cos my gsd is so strong and protective.. doesn't Want see anyone come or walk pass me.. anytime we re back frm a walk I tend to have severe pains on my arms due to his strength.. I can't kill myself oo..so he's a compound dog now

I think I will start with changing her collar type to that type that you wear around the belly and neck, I had the puppy own but she's bigger than it now. That type guarantees she will never slip through, I'll work on training her to ignore anything and return to me when I say come back. I just need a volunteer grin to come to my house but no one I know will agree to do that. She knows all my family members so that won't work.

your dog's behavior is normal, being territorial is a dogs nature. But what you need to do is let your dog socialize with kids often. when you're home, bring her outside, let her get used to them. this will ease the tension that has already built up.
training and socializing is very important in a dogs life. I have a boerboel who's almost two years. she would attack adult strangers but not children. Because she of how I trained her. You can't stop your dog from being territorial, you can only make her know when to be and when not to be.

Lol...well this is my first time coming across an aggressive eskimo (although I'm aware that some individuals are prone to be protective/a lil bit aloof but mostly the eskimos I come across are very friendly) ......
Well I'm facing the same thing with Mabel, although it was intentional,I raised her to be a guard dog so she's very good at it 100%.The best you can do from my opinion is to keep taking it out on walks, keeping it indoors will only worsen the situation.... keep taking it out (restrained though) and whenever it tries to attack, make a stern voice/ whatever you normally use to tell it you don't like what its doing and with time, it'll change........Mabel is as tough as h**l but I try to show her that the only time she's allowed to attack/bark is when she's on my property (house) and gradually she's coming along, grabbing the training as she rarely barks at people while we're on a walk unlike before

Thanks for your response, believe me I never knew a dog her size could be this territorial. I have not taken her outside ever since because I need to change her leash. As soon as I get a better one I will start taking her on walks again.

call one of your friends that has mind, release the dog, when it runs towards your friend let him unleash a solid ronaldo screamer free kick to its chest and see how your dog will be behaving itself from that moment onwards.

I found this thread while surfing the net about my dog. This is just how my Eskimo is and Im wondering if Eskimos aren't supposed to be kept as pets. She attacks and chases anyone that comes close to my gate. We don't let her out of the gate cos she will make sure she chases anyone on the stress. She is calm at home but once she sees a stranger, she won't hear or listen to anyone.
