I guess it was the angle at which the pic was taken that made it appear so. The blocks aint on the bare soil, it was actually concreted before setting.

In the second pic by the foot of the guy in green shorts I think I do see a concrete bed.

But the foundation looks a little bit shallow...
Does not really matter, since it is a bungalow.

since am the site supervisor, its strictly a street-budget building
Breakdown of cost so far:
Clearing of land 10k

BLOCK MOULDING
sharp sand 20k x2 =40,000
Ordinary sand 10k x 4= 40,000
Cement N1400 x 100= N140,000
Workmanship for block moulding: 700 per bag= N35,000 for 50 bags ( first batch)
Total= N265,000

FOUNDATION
sharp sand 20k x 2= 40,000
Ordinary sand 10k x 2= 20,000
Miscellaneous (water)= 10,000
Workmanship to lintel = 200,000
Borehole (well) = 150,000
Total= 420,000

Planks for lintel= 50,000
Linted roper + workmanship= 57,000
Roofing= huh

you didn't buy stones for lintels and foundation? how many blocks did you get at the end of the day? this thread would be a reference thread so please keep the updates coming.

Sorry, i missed out stones and gravel. So far, we ve used 2tons each. I specifically cant remember the price except i check my note.
Thanks for the observation. For the blocks, we started with about 2000 of 9 inches and 500 of 6 inches. We had to get more 9inches, about 500 or so. We still have some of the 6 inches.
