Jesus said in John 6:44: "No man can come to me, EXCEPT the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day."
It's NOT as straight forward as you guys think...

These are the victims of the fatal accident that occurred along Ibadan-Lagos expressway recently. I was just informed by a friend that they gave up the ghost atthe hospital. These guys might have survived if they were promptly attended to, by our emergency response team. May their souls rest in peace Amen.

OP, please try and get enlightened.
BURNS cases are very classical.
Some patients even make phone calls.
Some even smile with their families.
But what u must know is that when the entire SKIN is almost involved, that patient will almost always die except in the DEVELOPED world where SKIN can be harvested as fast as possible to cover up these patients.

Please be informed.

Absolutely wrong. That's not a first degree burn b t a third degree burn. Third degree burns are usually the worse as they can even cause damage to internal organs, bloodstream and even bones. Why those guys didn't feel any pain was because their nerves were already damaged so they had little or nothing to feel as of that moment. And the guy talking about skin graftig harvested to cover up the patient, their chances of survival was very slim. Most of their internal organs were already damaged. It would have taken only a miracle for them to have survived. So be informed and be educated. There is no way skin could have been harvested to cover them up.This is a third degree burn where even skin grafting would have done nothing.

What is happening this year na?? Why all dis? Na so so bad news since d year started.. God have mercy on us

You're not alone. Honestly, I tire for this year. Every dawn, multiple sad news are waiting to wake you up from your bed. These days I'm afraid to open Nairaland. Just wondering, could it be the myth surrounding leap years? So, so bad news. To leave your house from island to mainland, fear go grip you, if 70 year old no rape 8 year old, husband go kill wife, friend go butcher friend, father go hammer him son, uncle go cut niece head, IPOB dey one corner, Boko dey the other side. Humanity has no meaning to us, no consideration for others. It's like we are cursed.

God, show up please and reason our matter. Nairalanders, add this to your prayer points as you attend service today, please.

Most people here don't understand the physiology of burns. It is easy to stand from afar and manage burns. Those guys suffered over 95% burns, partial thickNess burns, the mortality rate is over 90% even in developed countries. The complications of burns starts after 48hrs progressing rapidly till day 7 . Pain is the list of their problems, the nerve endings are damaged so they will probably not feel the instant pain.
The major issues are fluid loss, oedema, laryngeal oedema for inhalational injury, electrolyte imbalance, kidney failure, infection/sepsis.
It was a bad case.
Re: Victims Of The Lagos-Ibadan Express Fire-Accident Die - Graphic Photos by Toksytoks(m): 10:53am On Mar 13, 2016
overboard:

The chances of them them dying from this percentage of burns is over 90% anywhere in the world. Quote me. Their lungs and kidneys wouldn't survive the damage, infections will overwhelm the system. Potassium released from damaged cells will shut the kidney down in days. Our bodies are not designed to withstand this..
Most burns victim will look stable, first 24hrs but the complications set in much later and it becomes a battle.
The chances of survival is less than 5%

I'm no medical doctor but I was like "ah, these ones don survive na", so imagine my pain to learn that they both died! We need to do something about our health system.

Where were they taken to, what was the treatment given to them? It is pertinent that we know.

Any one with insight and info please educate us.

Vivian! Which friend informed you? How did he get to know? I don't trust ANYTHING from you- you're so desperate for traffic. When I saw the headline, I was hoping it won't be from you because your blog isn't reliable.

Won't be surprised if the men are still alive. How do we even know since they may not be in the news again?

Road accident together with Fulani herdsmen constitutes one of the major causes of death in Nigeria. This should be the main priority of the Governors smh.

My advice to Nigerian drivers is to maintain three second rule so as to ensure a safe distance at any speed.

Explain the 3 seconds rule

In highway engineering, perception-reaction time is 3secs for an average driver. If you study science at all, the equation of motion is now applied to calculate the minimum stopping distance which is dependent on your speed.
Summary is if you cannot stop a car or reach an obstacle within 3 secs. You are going to hit that vehicle or obstacle if you don't leave enough space BTW u and other vehicles in case of emergency.

If there is a website that offers respite and relief from all the bad news flying around and being given a right of place by our daily tabloids which agitate the minds of all, will you run to the website? http://femillionairee.com doesn't promote bad news or pokes its nose into the lives of our celebs. No time for that. It's a pure and sheer time wastage. Please go to the site. Thanks.
