My brother, if u want peace of mind with your console, go to the guy @ Alaba, u will only go once rather than going to Oshodi everytime, hope u cherish your machine, then let an expert deal with it.

Op have you checked if your ps3 firmware is still on 3.55 or below? If it is then you can hack it yourself. Also if your ps3 is a super slim just forget about it cos superslims can't be hacked for now. Finally ask whoever wants to hack the game for you to install the latest "Rebug" firmware, you'll thank me later for this tip.

It depends if you're lucky your superslim might be downgradable to 3.55, you can check if it is downgradable to 3.55 by running minvercheck.pup update file.

Actually super slim can be hacked with the cobra ode

An ODE (Optical drive emulator) is not a "hack" per se. It simply hooks onto the ps3 bluray drive and sends disk read signals in its place. It does not modify the ps3's firnware in any way. And with an ODE there are a lot of limitations involved. Some homebrews just don't work.

For now the ps3 3k models CANNOT be downgraded to the required fw version which would allow the installation of a jailbreak firmware. The only way to play backups is to install an Optical Drive Emulator (ODE).
