Are you ok? Those developed countries are less corrupt than ours. Their taxes are put into use while ours are embezzled. Common pension contribution was embezzled by one politician not even talk of some states that pay half salary per month

Did d govt know dat all of these charges might lead to liquidity trap, where individuals prefer to hold money in hand rather than save in bank. However, to make life easier dey should reduce interest rate so one can invest ooooooo.

Are you giving a lecture on the functions of CBN or commenting on the specific issue of bank charges which the thread is about?

Bankers Tariffs are incomes to the banks not to CBN or Government. They were usually reviewed yearly in the past but of recent, the review has changed to every 3 years. It is co-ordinated and regulated by CBN so that there will be uniformity in bank charges nationwide.

The document on latest 2016 tariff (still at exposure stage) which will replace the 2013 version from where the OP extracted what caught his fancy is actually 68 pages containing all bank charges even for smiling at a beautiful cashier .

You can download it from the CBN website and challenge your bank if it wrongly charges you.

Your argument was that we shouldn't blame the government but CBN, isn't it? And i said CBN is a government patastertal whose function include mobilization of funds for the government, meaning the CBN and the federal government works hand in hand.... Well Said. All this is just the doing of Emefele. Buhari should sack him before he inflict his PDP curse on this New government. People are not being reasonable by referring every CBN policy to Buhari. Yes, Buhari is the President, but Emefele is making laws too stringent for Nigerian to bear.

I'm almost regretting why I voted for APC, this government is criminal. charges here and there. A time will come and they will tell us before we buy food stuff from the market that we would have to pay for entry into the market.
