History will vindicate Jonathan.

The ONLY thing Jonathan did in six years worthy of commendation was making a phone call.

Anything else na wash.

I personally would agree with you, but the jury is still out on that.

Looking back at OBJ regime, it was also adjudged to be the most corrupt.

Jonathan's only shortcomings were his lackluster fight against corruption, his political immaturity, his calmness and simplicity, which were taken for weakness.
He was sincere, patriotic, dedicated and always put the nation first.
Admittedly, he lost control of some his ministers and key people in his inner security circle.

The seeds of Jonathan's administration would also be made manifest in time. Ironically, these new band of LOCUSTS will definitely take the credit.
its true obj stole our money bt he left more money for Nigeria than he met in 1999. he also paid our debt, and increased our foreign reserve, bt Jonathan did none of the above with more revenue or can u prove me wrong?

I disagree... Let us leave aside political comradeship. Obasanjo remains the best Democratic president since 1999 but his refusal to strengthen our Democratic institutions make me rank him as both the best and the worst. Yar'adua government was not fantastic. It shielded lots of corrupt people like Obj's but still fought more.

I will say GEJ's had the best democratic credential and most transparent but most wasteful. Yar'adua's was the most embarrassing but less wasteful, while Obj's was the better administration but most undemocratic.

As for Buhari, his government is an embarrassment

Virtually everything which you celebrate as GEJ's achivements where the germinated seeds of OBJ's administration, inclusive of the telecommunications industry explosion which happens to be what actually pushed Nigeria to the no. 1 spot as the largest economy in Africa. That the rebase of the economy was done during GEJ's era and that we 'realised' we were the largest economy during GEJ's time, that doesn't mean it was GEJ who did this in 1-2 years of his administration.

Be also reminded that Nigeria maintained a GDP growth rate of between 6-7% in 2014 and was adjudged the 3rd fastest growing economy in the world. But you might be surprised to know that the Ota man met a growth rate of just over 2% in 1999 and under him, it grew at a point to as high as 8-9% (highest ever) and then averaged at between 6-7%; GEJ only maintained what he met (but eventually crashed it to the 1999 value of below 3% as at handover).

Then talking about savings, OBJ met total savings of roughly $5.4bn and handed over savings of up to $60bn to his successor (even though oil sold for $38 average during his time). Roughly all the wild expenses and squandermania under GEJ by both states and FG were from monies saved by OBJ.

As for corruption, OBJ's government was bloody corrupt and was adjudged 'at the time' to be the most corrupt; you dont need a soothsayer to tell you however that that record has since been beaten.

I am patiently waiting for the seeds of GEJ's own administration to germinate in future as you suggest. If for anything, I already know some of the seeds of GEJ's excellent handling of the economy being a nation with depleted reserves, massive debts, a GDP growth rate of 2.35% and a most divided nation along ethnic/religious lines.

No he did not.

He laid solid foundations for economic and political progress.

He did his very best, which is much more than we have ever had in our sordid history.

Perhaps you can tell us which of Nigeria's previous presidents or heads of state that did a much better management of our national resources than Jonathan.

I Will be waiting.
You will always be getting it wrong if you compare him to other extremely useless past "leaders" that deliberately failed the country.

You should rather compare him to international standard.

Party aside let's be honest.
Party aside and in all honesty, you have made some good points, but you also spewed some ignorance too (no offence):
1. Jonathan increased power to 5000mw, but the real question is, how much did he actually add to the value he met after spending over $10bn?... If Buhari adds 10mw today and Nigeria attains 5010mw, that will be the highest power generated in history, but is that an achievement that should be celebrated (especially when you consider the amount spent)? Lastly, was there an improvement in your daily supply? (answer honestly)
2. GEJ did not build the most federal roads and Fashola never made that baseless statement. If you are Nigerian, then you should be smart enough not to swallow any rubbish report churned out by dubious blogs.
3. GEJ commissioned many new federal varsities, TRUE!... but changing the name written on the signboard from 'federal polytechnic' to 'federal university,' commissioning it and then celebrating that you have created a NEW university, that doesn't really seem like a stellar achievement to any discerning mind.
4. GEJ did not 'make' Nigeria largest economy in Africa, this ignorance isn't worthy of an educated person.
5. No fuel scarcity throughout his reign, Hallelluia!.. But the question smart people should ask is, at what cost to Nigeria was this fuel supplied?... N2.13trillion blown up in 2011 alone to ensure that there was no scarcity. Good result though, but achieved through a very flawed process which resulted in huge damage to the nation's reserves. This explains why Nigeria earned its highest income in this period but instead of having savings, our reserves fell helplessly. Not a wonderful achievement if you and I must be honest.
6. Reduced ghost workers by 50%?... Someone asked a valid question, "if we dont know how many ghost workers are in Nigeria, how come you know 50% were reduced?" grin I would have preferred you mentioned the exact number of ghost workers for the sake of comparison because virtually all administrations as well as I can remember have discovered and removed ghost workers.
