To everyone who commented earlier, I really appreciate the kind words and support. I was meant to update this thread last night but I've been very busy.
Day 1:
I stated in my first post that I was going to start with Upwork. Well, so far so good. I created an account yesterday and made sure to complete my profile 100%

I also took some tests to boost up my profile. Here's my performance

As you can see, I hid those tests where my performance was 'Below Average' from displaying on my profile.
I waited about 10hrs for my account to be reviewed and approved before I was allowed to submit proposals for jobs listed on the website.
Before going to bed last night I submitted a total of 15 proposals for jobs which I believe I could handle. You can see that in the screenshot above, I've not submitted any proposals today. This is my first time using Upwork and I wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing but I kept on bidding and submitting proposals until I had submitted a total of 15. The proposals are for different jobs. Typing each proposal isn't an easy job though and that prompted me to make a proposal template. Each time I submitted a proposal, I just edited the template a bit depending on the type of job I was applying for. When you signup for Upwork you'll be given 60 free connects which you'll use to submit proposals. After you exhaust your connects for the month, you'll need to pay some amount to get more connects. You'll be give 60 more free connects after a month. Each proposal I submitted cost me 2 connects.
Day 2:
I woke up in the morning to an email from a potential client who's willing to hire me if I do well in a test job. And ofc I will do well because I made sure to apply for only jobs I can handle perfectly well grin grin

Later in the afternoon, another email grin This is for a job which I bid $500 as charge for me to complete the task

Upwork also notified me that one of my proposals has been declined because the job poster chose another freelancer to work with lol. I wasn't expecting all my proposals to be accepted anyway
It's weekend and replies are a bit slow. I am going to be as patient as I can throughout this journey. Hopefully tomorrow, I pray I will be hired. This is my progress so far
I'll be submitting a few more proposals tonight before I go to bed. Thanks for reading smiley
Bro I will be glad if you can help me with a proposal template my email is kayode12us@yahoo.com. Thanks in anticipation

its your thread bro. You can direct them on what to do. Most people see a thread in nairaland and because others are requesting for something they will follow suit without knowing what its used for. Get the basic thing first. My opinion tho

paypalking, i congratulate you for this bold decision. More grace on your endeavors.
have you check up Bamidele Onibalusi? I think working for Fivrr, Upwork and their likes is so time-wasting. I think you can do better.
Happy Freelancing

I know Bamidele. But have you benefited from actions you took as a result of coming in contact with his materials/articles.
If yes, you drop light.
Thanks.

Short answer; YES.
if you are more specific, correspond with me via email. And, maybe we'd fly together.
