SeverusSnape:if u like truth, u will agree dat many of d election declared inconclusive today would have be declared conclusive under previous govt even if d rigging, violence etc are worse than what we have now. |

APC is really being surprisingly nice to their own disadvantage. It seems they are not keen on holding on to their hard earned power. |

Nigeria is in trouble and I blame our leaders for chasing away Ghanaian teachers who would have impacted common sense into us years ago. Which is better? To release FALSE RESULTS OR to certify accurate results? A case in point is the Rivers State issue. Flashback to 2015 elections. APC, international observers, non-partisan citizens etc. cried out that the elections should be cancelled cos it was marred seriously with violence and malpractices. They alleged that the PDP used federal might cum dss, military, police, navy, militants, etc to intimidate and marginalise dem from voting. There were killings...BB snatching, name it. APC ppl were overwhelmed and caught unawares. Now,instead of someone to do the right thing and investigate, the person went ahead to release results, all because she was working in tandem with the federal govt. In 2016, the Rerun was marred by a different version of violence and malpractices. Both parties were prepared! PDP will repeat what they did in the last elections, APC were fully charged to match violence for violence. Infact, Supreme Court verdict even stirred the venom Sef. The only difference was that APC had the military etc with the inactivity of the federal Boss, PMB. Of course we know the outcome. Amazingly, the PDP was crying out like the APC did last year and immediately gained public sympathy simply cos people hate PMB for no just cause. The REC, seeing what happened, suspended actions until reports from fieldworkers return, JUST LIKE JEGA DID when he sent 3 "PDP" fieldworkers to investigate the malpractice claims for 3 days. He would rather release clear results than concocted ones. Now instead of people to do some critical analysis, they just put blame on PMB and say INEC is incompetent. Did INEC put guns and matches in the hands of rivers people? If you conduct a rerun in the north today, it will be peaceful. I'm sure Results will come out. But south-south, okpari! Look at rivers and bayelsa. Even if you put Obama and Donald Trump to conduct it, there will still be violence and malpractices becos the missiles are still with the boys, and are willing to be use their WMDs. I pity/pray for Edo state, which is coming up soon. God help them. But please leave all these childish zombie talks. They sound like stuffs illiterates actually gut out. And it's even funny when someone says it and still calls PMB an illiterate. Who's more illiterate? Let's have mature discussions on NL when serious issues like this pop up. Neither INEC nor PMB is to be blamed for Rivers rerun results' mishap. It's we Rivers People. |

3sha4lyf:Thanks you very much! The imbecility that has bedevilled our youths (and adults alike) these days is frightening. I feel embarrassed being a Nigerian when I see some of these comments; I was even more embarrassed seeing Sen Ben Bruce (who should know better) making the same senseless comments scolding INEC for suspending announcement of the Rivers election results. I just can't understand how some people think. |

obailala:INEC cannot be completely exonerated. Despite all the time they take to prepare they are never able to provide materials and logistics to satisfaction, why is that? This is an institutional problem that needs to be tackled. On election days vehicular movement is limited so what stops them with all the materials at their disposal from arriving early enough to set up and settle to do their jobs? Accreditation would be scheduled for 8am for instance and yet even at noon until the afternoon, they are nowhere to be found in some polling units! Some ballot papers would have names of parties excluded, what manner of ineptitude? What stops them from requesting and ensuring live coverage at all polling booths? That way every activity down to counting of votes and announcements are on record. Apart from INEC, the major issue again is the security personnel that forever align themselves with the government of the day, never maintaining neutrality and strict compliance. Before long they are involved in ballot snatching and intimidation of even the INEC personnel so where does that leave the electorate? |

freeze001:disagree with you on some points, but I concur on security. on live coverage, are you kidding me? I only need to beat up the person manning it, if na robot, just find the supply source and disconnect it. Nigeria has no infrastructure for that yet. |

freeze001:No doubt, INEC shares some of the blame especially in terms of their recurring logistics excuse. However, we are talking about the violence and daring/full frontal malpractices here, INEC cannot be blamed for that. INEC conducted elections in 36 states of the federation, the election in Rivers state last year was marred by the most shameful form of malpractices, the election was cancelled and rescheduled. Now the rescheduled election turns out to be far worse than the first, and most of it has been cancelled again. This obviously isnt an INEC problem cos this same INEC conducted elections in 35 other states. |

All PDP fans kw how to insult very well, that's all they do, they don't kw wat is constructive criticism. To criticize a govt is right. So as to make them work harder. But what have notices is that PDP followers neva say anything meaningful other than 1. Its propaganda 2. APC followers are zombies 3. I blame buhari. Is this how to criticize the govt to make them work better? Because ur party is not in power, u prefer negative News to prove the present party in power is incompetent. This shows that most PDP follower do have Nigeria at heart but their party. Am not surprise as most of them are iPob. Oya start raining ur insult. |

SeverusSnape:This SeverusSnape always reason like fayose. I ditaste lack of common sense and worst of all, these are future leaders of this country. The op has valid points in my opinion. Buhari can choose to give just a phone call and d whole story of PDP will change for d worst and nothing will happen but he didn't do dat. We lack patience. Slow and steady we will get to the promise land. Rome was not built in a day please. |
