Icon4s:As for me, Experience they say is the best teacher. When we went to the 1996 Olympics, we took Emmanuel Amuneke along as one of the over aged players. Remember, he was in the form of his life at Sporting Lisbon. Getty Arsenal are set to offer Alex Iwobi a new contract this season after the youngster made his way into the Arsenal first team. The Nigeria international scored his first goal in Arsenal colours against Everton at the Goodison Park and Arsene Wenger believes that he has earned himself the right for a bumper new deal. The Evening Standard reports that the midfielder is likely to receive more than a 1000% rise from his current weekly wage, which currently stands at less than £1000 ($1428) a week to close to £10000 ($14280) a week, which should keep him away from the hands of rival clubs keen on his signature. Iwobi was also given a start against Barcelona at the Nuo Camp where he performed admirably, showing how much he has progressed since taking the field in the Emirates Cup last summer. England were desperate to get him to switch allegiance from Nigeria, but Iwobi was unwilling to give in to the requests of the FA and will continue playing for the African nation. The Gunners will be hoping that Iwobi can continue his improvement and help the north London club end the season on a high. Their win against Everton was only their second in a spell of eight games with five losses to their name, which has all but ended their title hopes and eliminated them from Europe and the FA Cup. The north London club lost 5-1 on aggregate to Barcelona while their quest to win the FA Cup for the third year running was cut short by Watford at the Emirates. Iwobi came in as a substitute against the Hornets, who travel to the Emirates yet again on 2 April to lock horns in the league. Wenger has revamped his team in the last two games, with Iwobi starting on the left while Alexis Sanchez has been brought to the right.
