Kanus Mother: I Have No Regrets That My Son Is In Detention by gartamanta(op): 11:13am On Mar 22, 2016
In an interview, Nnamdi Kanu’s mother Ugoeze Nnenna Kanu says her son Nnamdi kanu’s is on the right part fighting for the actualization of the state of Biafra and that she has no regrets whatsoever.

Unlike most mothers who would have been disheartened, this woman was strong and showed strength all through the interview. She went ahead to encourage her son’s supporters.

Good day madam , we heard that your son NNAMDI KANU have been in detention for over five months now, how do you feel about that?

Yes… My son have been unlawfully detained by the Nigerian DSS without any charge, and it’s really a shame to Nigerian democracy.

Now what moved your son to embark on the Biafran restoring, knowing fully well, that more than three million Biafrans were killed when such case came up past decades,

Can i ask you a Question… Your father struggles to get wealth, but he did not achieve it, will that stop you from starting from were he stopped? The fact still remains…. Biafra is our home, that our forefathers did not achieve it, can’t, and will never stop us from pressing forward.

Do you think Biafra will be restored?

My answer is capital YES. Because we were never one with Nigeria, so the marriage will never work, all we seek for is Biafra.

Okay.. Now do you have any regret, (your son has been in detention for over five months) because of Biafra?

I don’t have, whatsoever, because i know that he is in the right part, freedom is not cheap, he is paying the price, that is our ransom.

Lastly madam .. What do you have to tell people outside there supporting your son, what encouragement?

I love them all for their support and endurance… Let them keep on keeping on, freedom is not given, but is taken, they have to understand that my son is in detention because of them, and let them have in mind that biafra must come under our watch.

Well, when he is convicted for treason after 10 years in prison custody and executed, you can do this interview again. However, if you are happy about his detention, heck 99% of Nigerians will also not bat an eye lid when he gets his capital punishment sentence for his crimes!

All brawn and no brains!

Dumb woman...is Ojukwu your fore-fathers?

Ojukwu was just a proud spoilt rich kid, fighting to appease his ego and pride-hundreds of thousands of Igbos died and are still dying fighting a man's struggle.

What is the ideology of Biafra?

Besides wealth and power, what other ideology do you think Lugard had when he created Nigeria? You are questioning the ideology of indigenous born African men like Ojukwu and Kanu to create their own political destiny while accepting the ridiculous ideology of 'foreigners' that made you a Nigerian? I laugh in Chinese.

What an assertive mum Prince Kanu has! She reminds me of the courage of her great auties ( ABA Women) of the 1929 riots.

I never said Lugard did the right thing,or Nigeria was well put together by the British...what am saying is Ojukwu can not be said to be a hero in my own perception. He single handedly decided the faith of millions, which eventually brought them tragedy.

Sure Iboes were feeling marginalized then, but most were shocked at the outbreak of the war. Ojukwu didn't think it through, preparation and inputs from fellow Iboes are too few if any. He was acting like a dictator, while trying to free his people from one. Am sure you know the details...

Your problem is that like most Nigerians, you don't know the history of Nigeria. If you did, you would know that Ojukwu did all he could to prevent war. You would know that despite being senior to Gowon, Ojukwu went to Ghana and signed an agreement with Gowon in which he promised to recognise Gowon as his leader so that there would be no war. You would know that it was Gowon that broke that peace agreement. You would also know that it was the eastern Nigerian consultative assembly that mandated Ojukwu to declare Biafra and not something Ojukwu decided on his own to do. You would also know that it was Gowon that started the war by coming down to the east to start fighting when he had other options such as calling Ojukwu back to the negotiating table. Throughout the war, Ojukwu left the door of peace open and promised to order the Biafran army to lay down their guns provided that Gowon agreed to a referendum in the eastern region, but Gowon said "we must all be one Nigeria" and millions died. If you knew Nigerian history, you would know that Ojukwu was a 'Saint' compared to all others. Stop listening to the Yoruba propaganda and start reading real Nigerian history.

We see her photos and read, but no evidence, she is truly his mother.

Why does she never attend court hearings?

A video of interview would help to convince me.

The Eastern consultative forum you are talking about is a bunch of Ojukwu cronies and he himself, this forum does not really represent the entire eastern population.

Feeling agitated and sponsoring a clandestine militia is one thing, but declaring a full scale war that you can't win is another. He didn't think it through...it's not wise to jeorpardise the lives of millions due to his feelings.

Why are you not talking about the Aburi agreement which Gowon broke? You are busy blaming Ojukwu but the man who broke the peace agreement Gowon is still alive but you say nothing about that because you do not want to admit that Ojukwu did not cause the war. I will never know how you people reason. Ojukwu signed an agreement in Ghana to keep Nigeria one and avoid war. Ojukwu went home and kept his side of the agreement, Gowon went home and broke his side of the agreement yet you people still blame Ojukwu for declaring Biafra? With the declaration of Biafra, Gowon could still have called Ojukwu to the peace table but Gowon chose to come down to the east to fight a war. So how can Ojukwu have declared war? How can a person be resting in his house and another person comes to fight him in his house but you blame the person who was resting in his house for fighting. This sort of daft mentality is beyond me. You people wanted Ojukwu to accept the breaking of the Aburi agreement, the dissolving of the regions, Nothern domination and on top of that, a$$-lick Gowon? I laugh in Igbo.

Ojukwu was in the best position to win the war. Ojukwu had the Oil, the man power and the Seaport. Is it the Groundnut pyramids that Gowon would have used to fight the war? The only reason Nigeria won was the British Warships which blockaded Biafra from selling Oil and importing enough Arms and food to keep going. It was also these British warships that helped Nigeria capture PortHacourt. Had Britain not blockaded Biafra, Gowon would have ran out of money and given up. So when people say Ojukwu could not have won, I wonder what planet they come from.

Stop talking bullshit, which president will sit and allow another man declare another country within same union?

By declaring Biafra,Ojukwu indirectly declared war. He was summoned,he refused to go to the supreme command to explain his actions-what do you expect Gowon to do?
