Pure propaganda, we should not give them forex for them to buy raw material that can be sourced locally. Why can't the company's do backward integration I.e have a company where they produce the raw material they needed or alternatively I see this as an opportunity for govt to focus more on agriculture especially some state govt like osun and oyo

3m people? Talk about pulling numbers out of thin air.

Most of their raw materials can be made available in commercial quantities if they were serious: how long does corn, wheat, sugar cane, or barley take to grow? No be six months? Smh

But seriously, this can be a great opportunity for those who are willing and able: find a critical imported raw material, grow it, process it, and sell it to these manufacturers. If only a bank would be willing to loan me money for this enterprise...
Re: #FOREXCrisis: Food And Beverage Sector To Sack 3m Workers by wristbangle: 2:29pm On Mar 24, 2016
Some people don't read before jumping into conclusion. Smh.

Anyway I believe that these industries through research and development can produce most of these raw materials locally but they are just too lazy and have concluded it's time/money wastage to engage themselves into producing raw materials locally.

If dem wan retrench, so be it but really some are using this camouflage of bad economy to inflict pains on Nigerians

He has already stabilised it at $40 per barrel from his last visit to UAE.

Which way Nigeria. Buhari should simply resign from Aso rock because it appears he can't govern this nation. What we are experiencing now is as a result of Southwest conspiracy plot with the north to overthrow Jonathan. If you remove the faeces from dog, are you going to feed on it. My fear is that this might likely continue for another four years tenure. We are still in the first year of the first tenure and the economic crises is felt like dis. Even the weather dey feel am too. #cbnEmefieleshouldresign #BuharishouldresignifNigeriaistoobig

No offense....but my comment did not insult you, or insult anyone.

I just made my suggestions as to what should be done.

The sad thing is that you chose to insult me in such infantile language.

Please....this is a place for decorum in language.

Again good afternoon....and grow up.

And yes...I am reporting you to the mods .

Nd there are more millions at home seeking for employment, how crazier can things get? somebody will still come here to tell me PMB is still cleaning d mess made by d last administration. sanitation is supposed to bring relieve, fresh air, easiness n so on, but in this case, things are getting worst.
should we blame those manufacturers for not seeking for an alternative to importing raw materials? maybe, but they are doing business n will take decisions that will yield profit. d bulk OS on d table of d govt to b socially responsible to d people
Yes, d mess. Do you know that we did not save during the raining days?. All our forex was stolen by d past leader coupled with forex for Importing fuel. If Algeria reserved is $155 billion, Nigeria save $30 billion, an African country with Oil.

The only saving grace now is to be able to recover some stolen forex or increase in Crude Oil price.

Efforts are being made in that direction by several countries including Nigeria. It's a gradual process and it may or may not work. But it's a dumb thing to blame a person for a problem which is caused by circumstances which he doesn't control; a problem which he inherited by the way and which he is struggling to manage. It is only sensible to blame him if in due time, he isn't able to effect any alternative solutions; his first budget was only passed yesterday. Anyway, I don't expect most of the people here to be sensible though.

There was some light celebrations to mark the glorious feat when Buhari triumphantly came back. Some progressives attempted to smuggle it through as an achievement online before it got shot down in record time.

No, he has not, oil price will rise again but not now, his visit was jus to discuss on how they can create artificial scarcity of oil in international market so as to make it (oil) more valuable.
