No jungle justice? Where does black lives matter come from?

Good roads? Do you pay road tax and council tax regularly or not?

Round-the-clock securiry? Can`t be in UK and US, or can it?

Be whatever you want to be? Racism and your age make that tricky

Better education? only exists in private schools which are not affordable

Better standard of living? Debatable if you are not a professional

All other things being equal, far better for kids to go to school in Nigeria than abroad, especially if you are not poor

But still more advantageous for adult to go abroad, at least, for a while.
I read your comment and i almost started weeping for you. Do you know what the stockholm syndrome is? it is when victims become emotionally attached to their kidnappers. You have been kidnapped by the suffering in Nigeria to the point where you have started to like it. Google can never give you all the answers you need. You have to live it to understand it.

There is no country without crime. What matters is the response from government and it's citizen.

I really don't understand your comment about tax.

Racism? The excuse of lazy people. I was not born in the U.S but i have never experienced a day, minute, or second of racism. How is it that i am successful?

How can you even suggest that it is better to go to school in Nigeria than the U.S? Do you hear that? Nairalanders are laughing at your comments. Stockholm syndrome is a terrible thing.

Black Live Matter is nothing short of a movement, it's no different from the Biafran agitation of SE Nigeria. Whether you support or against it is a personal preference, bottom line is both are a movement: while one is agitating violence against blacks, the other is agitating for separation (I have no interest in rehashing history).

Nigeria and America have different culture and discipline. There are somethings I can do in America with minor punishment and I would NEVER dare try in Nigeria or God forbid, risk being burned alive. So please, don't compare both.
The Black Lives matter is a movement drawing attention to the injustice to blacks
You agree with that - there is racism

Lynching is a failure of the system, a crime by a mob
Shooting of unarmed black by US police is legal, all the police needs to do is to claim that he "feared for his life"

but we don't go around harassing the US about human rights

The US touts its human rights record but fails in protecting blacks
Even Obama has had to talk about it - Trayvor Martin was followed, harrassed and murdered
A professor in Harvard was suspected of not being the owner of his own home because he was black

Sometime I wonder where yall get all these from, it is indeed garbage in garbage out. huh

Black Lives Matter did not stem from Jungle Justice, this is absolutely different. BLM started after Zimmerman was acquitted of the Trevon Martin case. The shooting wasn't the issue, but the acquittal started the movement. Please yall should read

What in the world is road tax? I pay annual motor vehicle registration and property tax (annually) which is used to build/repair roads. Don't you pay motor vehicle registration in Nigeria?

Round-the-clock security of cos isn't possible, but the security consciousness, swiftness and alertness can never be underscored.

Racism makes that tricky? This is absolutely ridic. Racism doesn't make it tricky... Finding the balance between working hard and working smart is what makes it tricky.

Better education only in private schools? Really? So public schools lack better education standard? You learn something new everyday

Better standard of living isn't debatable whether professional or not. You don't need to be a professional to access good living which could be (healthcare, transportation, parks and recreation, religious life, housing, etc). This in this case is NOT debatable at all.

Finally, America isn't for everyone, just like Nigeria isn't for everyone but to say that Nigerians living abroad don't have what it takes or rather, being slaves to the white man is simply preposterous. Nigerians in Nigeria are suffering in the hands of foreigners IN NIGERIA, so please tell me, what exactly is the comparison? What I know is that Nigerians living abroad are very hardworking (excusing the 1% of bad eggs), I know Nigerians that are successful than those that aren't. Nothing further.

Sending your kids to school in Nigeria allows them to speak your native language with all the discipline and respect for elders that go with growing up in a Nigerian environment. Then, of course, that might mean nothing to you. Many private schools in Nigeria are better than government schools in America where drugs and guns are the order of the day. Success is a matter of definition. It might be that you don`t face racism in America because your ambitions are minimum.

I weep for your mentality. With all your "respect", where has that put it's citizens and the country? Nigeria is among the worst countries in the world. At least if the citizens grew up with "respect", there would be respect for life, respect public property, respected for your surroundings (Nigeria is among the dirtiest countries in the world), etc. The problem is, you are so used to suffering, you don't know a better life. Jesus, i thank you for my life oooooo. Do you hear the laughter of Nairalanders? it's getting louder and louder.

You are not serious. Have you heard of Rodney King before? Keep on deceiving yourself! A Nigerian that emigrated to America in his 30s or 40s is not even a second class citizen. On top are the Whites, doesn`t matter whether he/she is from Zimbabwe. Next are the African Americans who are followed by the Latino and Asian Americans. People like you then start to fight for somewhere to fit in in the 5th or 6th position. However, if you get there in your early 20s or you are already a professional, with a little bit of luck, you can make something for yourself
The problem is, when one black is successful in America, 100 have been destroyed by the system, but tv and propaganda would only follow that single success story shouting American Dream. Show me the statistics that ever put America as one of the best countries to live in the world. America has never made the best 5. I personally have never seen it make the best 10 when it comes to the standard of living of her citizens. You are impressed with America because you left Nigeria where nothing works to America where a couple of things work. You can be forgiven for seeing America as a paradise!

Quit the ganja already because you have nothing superior to counter my argument. Did someone say 5th or 6th position? Lol, you have no clue on how the American System works, so quit it. Btw, there's no 1st and 10th position, rather, you have majority/minority of which ALL Blacks (not African Americans), Hispanics (not Latinos), etc are minorities... Get your facts right, I don't have the time or the patience for a dense argument, and btw, this is NOT America vs. world but "Nigerians" in America vs. Nigeria. Get out of your comfort zone and see the other America. Nigerians get to America and London and base everything on what is happening to their inner circls, then go on public forum as an expert. What you are experiencing today, I have experienced it a decade ago, that is why I said the joke is on your friend and you.

You and i know that deep down you know for a fact that you are talking nonsense, but the Nairaland mentality where you have to win an argument at all cost prevails. So, you will not choose an organized, well functioning society over a run down one, right? ok.

If i was petty, i would go outside right now, take a picture of today's paper or a sign or something with your moniker stamped on it. Alas, i am not. Not everyone will have the same opportunities, but what i hate is when people who don't know any better or are so used to the jacked up system in Nigeria come here and argue ridiculous points just for the sake of it. Who in their right minds would choose a phucked up society over a well functioning one.

Fortunately, you are the one that said you live in America, just told you the truth about your position there, so what is not to like? Obviously, you are hearing for the first time that, apart from the tools of terror, America is never 1st on anything. Tough luck if you hate that. I never release any statistics, so look for the facts yourself and educate yourself. Wherever I live `foreigners` don`t get to educate me on what is really going on around me.

It is better to bring your child up in the west. Way better. Are you not their father? you talk as if they would be raised by someone else. Society will not raise you kids for you. Plus, it would be advisable to raise them there so their mentality would be right from childhood. I showed my kids a story of how a criminal was burnt to death in Lagos and they were looking at me like i made it up. In Nigeria, it is normal for children to get used to shiit like that and not value life.

Re: Why Nigerians Prefer To Live Abroad by aspirebig: 10:55pm On Mar 24, 2016
The reasons why people live abroad are many and varies but not limited to the following:
Good life
Good security
Better economy
Better educational system
Constant electricity
Better medical facilities-very important.
Lesser gap between rich and poor
People think better towards society advancement
Better amenities in place, eg to acquire a house, all you need is apply with a proof of constant salary with other necessary papers, Omoniles, touts, no area boys or community chairman or paying of deve
No refuse dump along the road
No queue for fuel or fuel scarcity
No Jamb, ASUU, or graduating for 4 years course in 8 years
No bad roads
Better opportunities
Better leave for nursing mothers, yes, some countries allow nursing , others go for a year.
Better rail system, no comparism here o
Better value for your work.
You see what your tax is being used for, so you feel one person will disappear with the money like the pension fund where someone stole billions of Naira and was asked to pay few hundreds of thousand Naira.
Transparent government
Prudent lawmakers, some ride bicycles to work till date in some countries, while many join public train. In Nigeria, ordinary man that is made a commissioner in a state will buy a brand new Toyota Prado in few months and cover the plate number with a black badge.
Some public servants disturb with noise in their convoy they drive very dangerously as if they are the only people on the road
Better internet services
