ShinnBet:
The Kano Hisbah sharia police declared yesterday the arrest of 31 young Christian girls mostly of southern extraction in a raid of a "br0thel" in the Sabon Gari part of town.

Firstly, Sabon Garri is home to mainly Christians and southerners and for the Sharia police to carry out an illegal raid on Christian properties and arrest Christians goes against the implementation of sharia law which states categorically that sharia will only be enforced among muslims.

Secondly, the hisbah raid in Sabon Garri has shown that the Kano State govt and likewise other sharia states in the north with similar hisbah brigades are operating effectively a state police which runs contrary to the constitution which forbids states from having their own police.

Thirdly, the young girls illegally abducted by the Kano sharia police will be arraigned before a sharia judge as the hisbah can not arraign cases in front of a conventional court of law. So in retrospect Christians and non muslims are now being subject to Islamic jurisprudence.

Fourthly, we can never take the same hisbah sharia police on their words as they played a significant role in Ese Osuru's continued detention at the Emir's palace.

For all we know these may be young Christian girls not dressed in appropriate Islamic garb which then makes them declared as prost1tutes by the lice ridden hisbah police.

This is not a case of pr0stitution but one of clear abduction by the Kano state hisbah brigade.

This Op is a joker, were you there when the raid took place? Why did you jump into conclusion on the cultural and religious identity of the culprits?

Even if all of them are christians as you want everyone to believe, then the hisbah did nothing wrong in their arrest. Unless if you want to tell us that Christianity is a religion for all sorts of immorality and as such they should be left alone because they are christians.

And the last time i checked Sabongarin Kano is part and parcel of Kano metropolis well within the jurisdiction of the hisbah.

But the issue of associating a group of girls who chose to engage in indicency act (not indicent dressing) as christians is my arguement. The meaning of christian is being christ like, which means they are no where near christians. They should rather be refered to as non muslims in this case. Afterall christianity is not the only religion beside islam. All other religious believers may have been involved even muslims

Those girls are not prostitutes .

Those girls according to the sharia police where arrested for indecency.

Indecency can amount to the way one dresses according to sharia law.

Because they were not wearing a boko hijab and ninja suit does not make them indecent women.

Your sharia police has started persecuting and abducting young Christian girls again.

These actions of the northerners against the Christains or the Norther minorities are calculated. They are testing the waters.

Is immorality of such nature acceptable in Christianity for some folks to make an issue out of it or what?

For people ranting all over Sabin gari is not the east or some christiandom but an enclave accorded to strangers by a host. ommunity and showing some respect to the norms makes you a good guest and not the other way. They say no ashawo is allowed in Kano. if you be ashawo checkout or better still you can do it in your village where its legal and religiously acceptable. For the silly daft religious warriors you can come fetch them to your christian domains where is allowed.

No body mentioned it was only xtians arrested. Again the news stated clearly first time offenders would be released with a warning to stop. Whilst repeat offenders caught will be charged.

Be it Sharia or secular Kano recognises both and as such laws of the land most be respected especially by strangers.Nigeria is an open nation if its not okay with you then get a lawyer or better still hit the road to a destination where the laws permit such immorality.

I agree with you totally that's why I am a strong advocate for full sharia law and not this bits and pieces you have in the north.

See this thread for more...

ShinnBet:

Why we must all support full sharia in the north

Let them have their sharia .

They have now resorted to using sharia agents like the Hisbah to subvert the constitution on state police.

I say let them have sharia not in parts but in full like what transpires in places like Saudi Arabia.

They should be made to know that having full sharia will come with its own negative consequences.

For example, full sharia does not allow for commercial banks.

If they want full sharia law in the north then the CBN must as a matter of urgency withdraw all operational banking liscences from the north other than Sukkot Sharia banks.

Since sharia also forbids the consumption and retailing of alchohol , then the northern sharia states should also not partake in alchohol Vat and excersise duties henceforth.

Not stopping at that, since they want full sharia law in the north, then they should ban the religious activities of other non Muslims. Churches should be banned as well as bibles and other Christian paraphernalia. The sharia caliphate of northern Nigeria should also ban non Muslims from their domain in the event that these infidels may corrupt the system. So with that, Christian corpers should not be posted to sharia north. Let them use their own Muslim Arabic studies graduates as part time teachers.

And since sharia law will become supreme in the northern sharia caliphate, I believe there is no need for the secular Nigerian police. The Hisbah brigade should henceforth take over all policing activities in the sharia north. The same also should apply for the closing down of all conventional courts. Let the sharia court become supreme since its law is supreme.

This will go a long way in establishing the utopic sharia enclave they have always wanted and also have all Christians vacate the north for the Ummah.

Bearing this in mind that for every action there is a reactionary event, I also suggest that Christian majority states in the south should also pass legislation banning the activities of Muslims in their various states.

Since the north wants apartheid we should gladly give it to them.

They have been using their sharia aggigtation as blackmail on Christians in their region. Henceforth they should go full sharia and from there face the consequences of their actions.

The north should not be allowed to have their cake and eat it anymore.

Sorry but Islam has a form of prostitution it sanctions which is muti marriage or temporary marriage.

Mohammed allowed his band of fellow robbers to hire prostitutes in pretense of marriage .

It is in your Koran and it is widely practiced by rich gulf Arab Muslims who hire prostitutes as temporary wives.

Next time read your useless Koran first before you judge Christianity

The Hisbah police did not mention their actual offence but whatever it is, christian teenagers should not be seen in or around a hotel premises involving in any indecent act of any sort.

Nonsense !!!

Ranting nonsense.

Kano has the biggest male brothel in Nigeria and it is located in the old part of the city far from Sabon garri.

Kano has the largest divorce rate in Nigeria with many young women roaming the streets as codeine addicts looking for a fix to which they don't mind turning tricks.

The level of vice among northern Muslims especially in drug abuse and prostitution in the most depraved form which includes young prepubescent girls and boys is by far the worst in the entire nation.

There are certain hot spots in kano that even the police, NDEA dare not raid.

So don't make Sabon garri seem like sodom and Gomorah of Kano . The old part of the city is plagued by vice and it's main perpetrators are northern Muslims.

If you dare visit Kano then I suggest you ask around about which people or group at the most corrupted. It isn't Christians but Muslims.

The old parts of Kano are plagued by more immoral vices than Sabon garri.

So if we take your foolish defense of this abduction, that means the Hisbah brigade will close down Wuse 2 in Abuja on a Friday club night?

Abeg tell your Hisbah to deal with the increasing number of drug addicts among you muslims and the increasing prostitution menace brought about by divorced young women who are now codeine addicts.

This was a clear abduction and the Hisbah police has no jurisdiction arresting Christian girls.

The young girls have the choice to opt out of sharia proceedings I hope you are aware?

I had to quote you again.

Your hypocrisy stinks.

It is only in the Koran that prostitution is legalized through muti marriage and this goes on daily in relatively poor Arab nations like Egypt, Lebanon and Syria where rich gulf Arabs patronize young girls for temporary marriages that can last a round of sex.

Arabs from devout Muslim nations like Saudi Arabia patrol the refugee camps in Jordan looking for Palestinian and Syrian girls to "marry".

They do this with clear conscience as they can draw from Islamic doctrine which sanctions temporary marriage.

So I don't know where you get the impression that Christianity is synonymous to prostitution.

In that same Kano , you will find male brothels and can have sex with a preburbescent girl for less than 500 naira.

Or can you deny the drug scourge hitting Muslim communities in Kano among young girls divorced by their old husbands in order to make way for younger fresh blood?

As I told you earlier , never try to preach Christianity here to christians or make a comparative analysis with Christianity to deflect from the real issue here which by the way if I must remind you is that the Kano sharia police otherwise known as Hisbah brigade abducted innocent young christin girls from Sabon garri area in the guise of prostitution.

Let the truth be told.

Mohammed allowed his followers to hire prostitutes

The Prophet of Islam allowed his followers to practice a form of prostitution called Nikah al-Mut'ah. In Muhammad's time, a Muslim could pay a woman for "temporary marriage," which would last a few hours, days, weeks, or months (depending on the agreement). Many Muslims today claim that Muhammad eventually changed his mind about this obviously immoral practice, and that Mut'ah is now forbidden in Islam (certain Muslim sources suggest this). But these Muslims fail to mention that some of Islam's most trusted sources plainly declare that Muhammad never prohibited Mut'ah. For instance, the following passage in Sahih Muslim says that Muslims were practicing Mut'ah well beyond the lifetime of Muhammad:

Sahih Muslim 3248—Ibn Uraij reported: 'Ati' reported that Jabir b. Abdullah came to perform 'Umra, and we came to his abode, and the people asked him about different things, and then they made a mention of temporary marriage, whereupon he said: Yes, we had been benefiting ourselves by this temporary marriage during the lifetime of the Holy Prophet and during the time of Abu Bakr and ‘Umar.

Some hadith claim that it was Umar, rather than Muhammad, who outlawed Mut'ah:

Sahih Muslim 3250—Abu Nadra reported: While I was in the company of Jabir b. Abdullah, a person came to him and said that Ibn 'Abbas and Ibn Zubair differed on the two types of Mut'a (Tamattu’ of Hajj 1846 and Tamattu’ with women), whereupon Jabir said: We used to do these two during the lifetime of Allah's Messenger. Umar then forbade us to do them, and so we did not revert to them.

According to Sahih al-Bukhari (Sunni Islam's most trusted collection of ahadith), Mut'ah is justified by the Qur'an itself! Consider the following verse from the Qur'an:

Qur'an 5:87—O ye who believe! Forbid not the good things which Allah hath made lawful for you, and transgress not, Lo! Allah loveth not transgressors.

Notice how this verse was used by Muhammad:

Sahih al-Bukhari 5079—We used to participate in the holy battles led by Allah's Messenger and we had nothing (no wives) with us. So we said, "Shall we get ourselves castrated?" He forbade us that and then allowed us to marry a woman temporarily by giving her even a garment and then he recited to us: "O you who believe! Make not unlawful the good things which Allah has made lawful for you." (5.87)

Hence, Muslim men who want to hire prostitutes can simply point out that both the Qur'an (the Word of Allah) and Muhammad (Islam's final prophet) allowed prostitution, and that later Muslims (like Umar) cannot overrule Allah and Muhammad.
