VillageParrot:
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the Minister of Petroleum Resources, Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, to honourably resign his position from President Muhammadu Buhari’s led government if he is not capable of doing his part by efficiently running the Ministry assigned to him and providing workable solution to the current fuel scarcity in the country.

Meanwhile, the party is silent on what it expects of President Muhammadu Buhari who himself is the Minister of Petroleum.

The party also said it is high time Kachikwu climb down from “his high horse to face squarely the duties required of him by his office, as responsibility to the people is one of the cardinal points of the APC which he professes membership.”

In a statement signed by the APC national vice chairman, South-south, Prince Hilliard Eta, the party alleged that “Kachikwu has not entirely cast off the orientation of the Peoples Democratic Party where he was”, adding that such is still manifesting in his actions and utterances such as the recent one that attracted opprobrium from many Nigerians.

“In the light of the foregoing, Mr. Kachikwu must not be a cog in the wheel of progress and he should do the needful by resigning honourably if he is not capable of doing his part by efficiently running the Ministry assigned to him”.

While denying that there was major rift in the party, APC said: “It is important to reiterate here that winning the federal election in 2015 has not eroded the core ideology of progressivism which we espouse as it is the very foundation on which the party rest.

“This progressive ideology strongly emphasises government as a tool for service to the people who are the custodians of power in the first instance. In line with this, it is not wrong or out of place for Tinubu to call the Minister of State for petroleum, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu to order owing to the anti-progressive statements he made in the Presidential Villa on Wednesday 23 March 2016 while fielding questions from Journalists on the persisting scarcity of petrol.

Is Kachikwu the Pet' Minister?
Why haven't NASS summoned Buhari - the Pet' Minister, to give some explanation?
That means you want DSS and EFCC to follow everyone in NASS.

Kachikwu's statement is not only ridiculous but also insensitive and I think its in order for his party leadership to ask him to resign if d seat is too hot for him.Fuel scarcity is a product of inconsistent policy and incompetent management. The MPR has not only failed to make our refineries work,dy have also messed up d importation process.

Ibe kachiku is just a junior minister acting under bubu's command, so therefore both of them should resign.

Its good for Kachikwu, who wanted to go and take position with coupist. Maybe Okowa will give him position in Delta since they are not part of Biafra lol

Even Tinubu reacted too! How come the same APC never reacted to all the insensitive, vindictive, ridiculous, nonchalant, reckless and stewpid statements of mumuhammado mumuhary? None of them thought to call the empty head to order. Little wonder he still goes about making senseless statements here and there.

APC is evil

I could remember when Kachikwu was appointed as the GMD of NNPC and PDP said they were the one that discovered him, APC quickly debunked the statement. But now that he is not performing up to expectations, they now remember he is from the PDP.

It will never be well with all APC families for their barbaric evil mind

APC south-south? What. a joke. This is not d official position of d party, not even in d south-south,talkless of d whole country. I see thus as d handiwork of a few disgruntled elements, who crossed over from d PDP,led by that so called Warri billionaire chief. D plan has been on for a while, now d Tinubu talk has given a plank upon which to stand to make their useless statement. Thunder go......

Kachiukwu should resign because of a statement of fact, abi. Okay.
We can't pay 5000 to the unemployed cuz we never said that or because of realities on ground.

We can't afford the one meal per day for students?
Subsidy is evil and should be abolished, yet we went back to support it from the backyard.
We have seen and heard lots of failed pledges and promises from the government, yet all our godfathers pleaded is for us to bear with the Fg based on realities on ground yet godfather wants to kill someone because he made a statement of fact based on realities on ground. Indeed, there is something godfather is not telling us.
FYl lbe Kachiukwu has a history of a healthy progressive growth in his life and career, and should be allowed to serve this nation backed by PMB's political will.
We shouldn't forget godfather's issues with Deziani Madueke in a haste and wonder why he has no issues with finance minister but with the state minister for petroleum while PMB who is C-in-C is the Petroleum minister is at his beck and call. Be fair in all you do.

Hypocrisy at its peak.

"Fuel Scarcity, Tinubu this..., APC that...", all to Kachukwu, but completely silent on the main man.

An indication of a failed administration.
Admit it or leave it.
