Chow chow, best breed ever! Date back to at least 200 BC China. The name "chowchow" was used to describe from the oriental empire. Before then they were called songshi quan "puffy lion". The blue black tongue is a signature characteristic. They are considered stubborn, aloof and serious but loyal. Chowchow can be very aggressive and must be well- trained. They are meduim- sized, shy and need regular excercise. They can live to be 8-12yrs.
