This is POLITICAL EMANCIPATION from those using Southern Resources to develop their hometowns, not caring to also develop the region from where the resources are derived..

Rich?
When all our northern states are feeding fat on your so called oil revenue! Rich indeed! We are keeping our mineral deposits until such a time you run out of oil or it becomes irrelevant and we share our resources alone. Stay there and be deceiving yourselves
I am not a fan of regional sentiment, but I would love to let you in on sone facts. firstly, the north cannot manage another region's resources when in power, how can it manage its own.
You cannot give what you don't have. for instance, consider most of the war ravaged countries they are blessed with resources and a very high level of illiteracy. So do the Maths.Illiterate + resources = crisis. It would take generations to attain a very high level of literacy in the north. And before that would even happen, only God knows how they would manage their much beloved quota system that does not promote merit.
When it comes to sustainability, the 5% region will always survive. Cattle ranges, agriculture, science and technology can be achieved once the human capacity is there. With these few points I typed in a hurry, I hope you can see the endangered region in this country.

Rivers is PDP; PDP is Rivers.

There's no place for such an abysmal party like the APC in Rivers state.

Even after padding the results inside Aso Rock, the corrupt APC folks couldn't beat the difference in the results, hence they had to release them.

Someone's definitely toying with the INEC.

sw got highest % in budget. That's why u get scared whenever u hear oil prize has dropped. Shey na osun state fufu u wan take fund budget?

Whenever I read comments like this, I feel sad about the future of Nigeria. The youth are ill informed, half educated and definitely not future leaders This is as a result of moral, physical and psychological impoverishment by the political elites. Imagine. What has state control got to do with Nigerian finances?.
This callous politicians have succeeded in blindfolding and brainwashing the gullible youths into believing that control of state political apparatus has any effects on financial allocations or budgetary obligations between the federal and state governments.
Whoever controls the states has no effects at all on what comes to a state from Abuja or what goes to Abuja from the state.Talking about Oil. All revenues from crude exports derived from any state goes in to the Federation account run by NNPC. Abuja now disburses money to the states based on constitutional rules.
So that is why the only government that really matters in terms of resource control is the FGN. The local and state politicians should stop lying to our youth. They only seek to control state apparatus and embezzle state funds as usual. Whether ACN or OPP or APC etc, the 13% derivation will still come. They are all the same. These politicians campaign points should be how they intend to manage the available resources. This is where emphasis should be layed.

I wonder why there is so much jubilation in pdp's camp.......

1. Winning rivers doesnt guarentee a ticket to aso rock

2. Winning rivers simply means pdp has become a regional party for the minority (5%)

3. Perhaps pdp need to remember APC swept all the rerun in the north which has we all knw is a major factor come the next election

4. APC has control of about 70% of the south west........

5: for those claiming pdp controls the oil-rich states........recall south west got the highest federal allocation.........got the highest percentage in the 2016 budget

its high time pdp accepted the fact that they lost the presidentain election they have been winning for the past 16 years!!!
Why re u pained??
How can u call ppl minority in their home soil?

to urself u've made sense abi? Pdp lost aso rock so they should go into extinctn by handing off their stronghold. Is dat what u mean? Apc won in d north without trouble so pdp shouldn't win in d ss bc they lost aso rock? Is dat what u're saying? Pdp used to b d dominant party in d north, today it's apc n u think it cannot change? It's obvious u're not a nigerian. Btw why is every zombie killing ITself over pdp stronghold?

APC is the political wing of Terrorists Boko Haram, & it's supporters. Plus those cocaine dealers that used their evil money to buy Bourdillon street in Ikoyi. And if you're sufficiently heartless, to withhold the salaries of a rich South south state, & use the money to sponsor terrorists & sharia. APC = chains.
