Applications for January 2017 should be your priority if you can't find any school with late deadline and you should focus more on writing a (more) superb SOP.
There's still open admission in department of public policy, but the problem is, it is same skool that denied me admission. Saskatchewan... What do you think?

I have been following the trend right from the beginning and I most say it is a very informative trend
please house I need urgent reply on a problem I have and I would so much appreciate it if an honorable member of the house could be of any assistance........
my real age is 25 years old but in my international passport my age is 32years (and there is also mistake in my place of birth) because of a stupid mistake made by the issuing passport officer.I tried my best to correct the mistake to no avail before I left for Dubai to save enough money for college....currently I secured admission in one of the schools in Ontario and in my LOA the inserted my passport's date of birth(32yrs) instead of my Waec's age(real age which is 25)....so my questions are
1) how badly will this mistakes hunt me and my dreams and prevent me from securing TRV
2) would it be better to swear an affidavit stating that the passport age is a mistake and my real age is that of my waec
3) what other proof do I need to present to support my affidavit(currently I only have my birth certificate, baptism card and waec result)
Am open to suggestions from gurus of the house and remain blessed

I will suggest u get this fixed before applying for visa cos let assume u get a visa with the age on your passport... That will be the age u will be stuck with in Canada ...it will be on your work permit, drivers license, health card even on your bank accounts.. That will be the age the Federal/provincial govt will av too.the naija embassy here won't fix it for u either, I know of someone DAT just a single letter was missing from his name when he did his passport in naija, time for renewal in Canada ,the embassy insisted they can't include the letter....his still stuck with that mistake till date.Moreso, those v.o are looking for the siliest excuse to deny people visa, don't make their job easy with this your age issue.fix it before applying will be my recommendation.

We both know some courses are more competitive than others. All the same I can't emphasize early application enough. You should give it a shot while you still can.

Your SOP is the only thing you could be subjectively judged on, so give them a mind-blowing one.

U of Alberta at a point requested a mini capstone project from me prior to application submission but they said it was optional and I still went ahead to submit one. The point is for you to satisfy all possible requirements as applicable.

Hello all, please I want to verify something. I want to apply for an undergraduate course but one of the requirements I keep seeing on all schools I've checked is a WEAC certificate.

Is it that schools in Canada don't accept NECO certificate? Cos that's what I have.
I have a first degree from a Nigerian University though.

@ vancouverguy:

Please i need your advice am thinking of applying to a school in canada, to study Msc Information Technlogy or Telecommunication, Buh i have HND in electrical Upper credit and also a pgd in electrical with upper credit too. I would like to know what are my chances of getting admission or been considered for admission. I have contacted the schools i intend to apply buh they said the minimum requirement is a four years degree course with a minimum of 3 on a scale of 4, Does dat means i can apply with my HND and PGD.
The schools are University of British Colombia and university of Saskatchewan.

Thanks in advance and am open to other better options you might suggest.

i'm thinking that we should stop applying for study permit for now and defer all courses/programmes to January especially for those that their programme will commence by September because i think something is wrong and we need to find out the cause first, look at the way study permit is been denied even when the application is not up to a month and i think they are happy over there at ACCRA office and may be they want Nigerians to learn and reduce the number of those who want to travel to Canada to stay because those who have graduated are not coming back even after the expiration of their study permit....please my thought is for us especially from this forum to stop applying for now and try to defer our admissions......just my thought ....o ya make una put mouth abeg

While I support your notion that something is wrong this year with study visa applications, I will also say it isn't enough to say people should defer their applications, one thing we all should note is the visa application process evolves, in 2010, people weren't required to show as much details as they do today, police reports and the likes only became needed In 2012 or there about, biometrics weren't required in 2012 either, in 2016, biometrics, and police reports are essentials.
The thing is the government of Canada want to ensure you are coming to study, they don't like the fact that you come, marry their women gain PR and divorce later, they don't like the fact that some will defer admission and do some cash jobs, they don't like the general facts that Nigerians have given themselves an image of always breaking visa regulations.
That said, I think what most applicants need to do is show that their primary goal is to study, and not emigrate! Those that have a job, can show that they are on a study leave, for people like me that are going to be unemployed by April 14th, we need a reference letter, an affidavit of some sort, to prove that, "hey, I'm for study, I might think of staying later, but for now, I'm just for study, my sponsor will take care of me without me having to work"...
Secondly, I think this issue of accessing funds in Canada from Nigeria, might be a mitigating factor too (just a guess)
Thirdly, Economies all over are having a hard time, every govt is trying to make sure they have the population they can cater effectively for
Fourthly, sometimes God/life has a different path for each individual, if after perfecting your application, it doesn't sail thru, my brother, my sister, weep not too much, try other options, and apply same hard work you have been applying in something else, and I bet you, you will make it in life, and who knows, you might be so good, Canada will beg for your expertise!

My tracking was successful this time. I've been using the wrong set of numbers all this while.

I arrived at the same result as yours. It seems to me a default response when you try tracking at any point because I have a friend having received medicals request March 18th, had it done by Thursday, 24th March but his tracking right now is producing same result "processed passport has been dispatched from Accra on the 23rd March. How can that be considering that they wouldn't even receive the result till Tuesday 29th due to the holidays?

Hmmmm, is this incompetence on the part of VFS or they really don't reckon with the Medicals? Is it just formality?

They accept NECO of course. It's probably a website content update issue

As per your present status of holding a first degree already, you had better think of and present a justifiable reason for choosing to do another degree program when submitting your application. If not, it's a RED flag for VOs
