Pretty002:I sympathize with you but it was like you were not helping out with home chores in your first friend's house. I believe that the first guy should have squatted you for 3 months till you save up money for rent. If he does not give you money to cook, you ask him. Sir. Have you eaten ? From there you demand for money and goto market and cook. My friend squatted a lady for one month and she never cared to enter the kitchen or goto market. If that is your case, who should be blamed ? |

Hmmm.....@Op.... nothing is for nothing in any capital city period. You are soo lucky to have two persons provide you with free accommodation. ...sexually active males not demanding sex for at least two longggg weeks. But no.... instead of being thankful and showing some gratitude here you are complaining. What has working you done in return? If your salary is soooo small that you couldn't even prepare meals at least twice a week for you and your host then you needed to pack up and return home. You have not made any attempt or shown any intention of finding paid accommodation for yourself. Your mind is set on living free....even if it means living with a married man...or someone of different belief...as long as it is living free. This your write up makes me believe you are a selfish and inconsiderate person.... one who would bite the hand that feeds you. As many have warned...you are lucky to be alive.....just don't keep pushing your luck being a free loader. |

Abuja is the worst place to be at if you not have a place to stay. It's even worse for females as some unscrupulous men would want to take advantage of your situation. However you can try out the suburbs where reasonably affordable accommodation is available. Good luck. |

Pretty002:Don't you have any savings fro your previous work? Go to Mpape as advised in the thread and stop complaining in the city centre with miserable experiences. |

| Re: Trials Of A Fresh Abuja Resident by Nobody: 11:14am On Mar 31, 2016 |
Op, if your car breaks down at night on 3rd Mainland Bridge, you better jump into the Lagoon than putting up with a friend's boyfriend living by the beginning of the bridge ![]() I'm damn sure if another accommodation comes up as the previous ones, you going to accept it as things are. Go to a Church or approach female colleagues to help out ![]() |

Pretty002 It is mind boggling that you would see a married man's place as your first option to squat. Without his wife around!! Is it that throughout your time with the Delta State Government, you didn't have any savings? To get a cheap place in mpape, madalla or the likes? Kubwa? If them pour you hot water now, you will now become a front page topic on naira land. Then next you moved to a place with 2 men, with just you as the female! People you don't know from Adam! Who could be rapists, killers...who could be anything! I'm sorry but you are engaging in very dangerous behavior. You are not the first that will go to Abuja to find work neither will you be the last. You better wise up or go back to Delta and teach. It's the living that can work ooo. |
| Re: Trials Of A Fresh Abuja Resident by tivta(m): 11:42am On Mar 31, 2016 |
This is the problem with most girls, always look for comfort at the cheapest cost, even in lagos you see most of them saying they need to live around yaba, surulere, vi, Ikeja etc knowing very well they can't afford such, yet the reasonable ones know there are lots of cheap places in lagos you can live in pending when you have enough money to move up, there are lots of places outside the city center for the op to live in, it's either she finds such a place or live abuja... |
| Re: Trials Of A Fresh Abuja Resident by Nobody: 12:45pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
DonCrust:You want to be the 3rd "landlord"? @Pretty002, you should have made arrangements for yourself as per accommodation. It seem you felt so relaxed in those places and laid back about getting your own accommodation. There are cheap places to rent in surbubs of Abuja like Mpape, and some villages in the Kubwa axis. Nyanya/Maraba is considerable only if you are ready to tolerate traffic. |

She is probably a contract staff and even 75% of core staff cannot access loan as it is. I know you meant well sha. But no, she cannot secure a loan. |

| Re: Trials Of A Fresh Abuja Resident by Nobody: 2:08pm On Mar 31, 2016 |
So sorry dear, my advice is, based on the location of your workplace shaa, go to Apo side, wumba, galadimawa etc etc, or if you want to really stay within town and pay cheap go to Gishiri, in Nicon Junction it's just opposite Maitama but I must tell you the truth the environment is not funny ooo, but they have light always. Or better still go to dutse,or Bwari. Ok, you can get a house of below 50k or below 100k depending on what you can afford or manage. It's not that bad really, thank God you even have job, as that would have made things worse if you don't, there is no single good man in Abuja as long as accommodation is concerned "quote me".... Wish you luck dear. |

This girl na mumu. You expect to live with a man that is not your blood relation for free and not Bleep him? Where does that happen, abi you be learner? The unwritten, common sense rule is, if you can't find a female friend to stay with and can't afford to rent a house, find a nice cool guy you can afford to Bleep and beg to stay with him for a while. He would most likely be taking you out once in a while like a girlfriend and giving you small change for transport sef in addition to the free accommodation. And food is assured. That's the standard thing for Sharp girls. as simple as that. No free lunch in this life. Otherwise go and sleep in a church, and if you are not careful the pastor or even church rat will still Bleep you for free. |
