Mushin is indeed a terrible place. It is one of d oldest settlement in lagos n very dangerous as well.

I remember growing up dere as an undergraduate, I used to shuttle btn d place n ajegunle. During d death of Abiola I saw some of dere bad side. There ws a serious hostlity btn d hausa n d yoruba communities. Initially dey started by attacking anything hausa dat ws in sight leaving trail of heavy bloodshed. They later started mobilising all available boys one late night saying mushin must be protected against d rampaging hausa ppl dat dey hv never lost a fight. And truly dey led a very blood attack on d hausa communities in idi-araba, cappa n others d following morning. They came in drove brandishing dangerous weapons as dey marched on those arewa communities like gladiators. Trust d hausa ppl dey tried to defend demselves with dere bow n arrows bt it could nt wade off d boys who will never retreat easily. If nt for d quick intervention of heavily armed soldiers anything hausa ws almost wiped out in mushin during d period. I doubt if what happened in mile 12 could ever be tolerated in mushin cos dey hv an army of blood-thirsty young men evrywher. As if dat ws nt enough immediately normalcy returned another bloody encounter occurred btn d opc boys n d akala boys. Even Gani Adams ws still in mushin den. Hs factn led a very bloody campaign against d boys n dey too retaliated in kinds before opc eventually subdued with dere might after weeks of bloodletting. Evry day from mushin, to olosa, idi-oro, n all over alasalatu n akala areas u will be greeted with burning corpses of ppl who were killed during dere midnight battles. I quickly ran back to ilorin cos d fight soon extended to ajegunle n island n d whole of lagos ws burning.

The place is indeed notorious, almost evryone from olorunsogo, dan megoro, ilupeju, fadeyi, idioro, moshalashi is a boxer. Beware before u try a mushin boy as a yoruba weakling else u might live to regret it.
