When two elephants fight, the grass suffers! Ekiti State Government is at loggerhead with Association of Private School Owners in Ekiti State. God should please intervene because of these little children who are involved in this situation.

Ekiti govt want these proprietors to pay their tax and they decided to pass the bonding to the students just to discredit mr governor good intentions.

That school is just a reference, the real issue is what you should focus on.

I don't see what you're complaining about. Ofcourse schools should pay taxes. They're a profitable business and any school that doesn't pay tax should be closed.

Besides this school u posted pictures of here looks very substandard and is probably deserving of the seal

You are not getting the point raised by OP. Schools know they must pay tax and any that does not comply can be closed. The issue here is that Fayose is now asking pupils and students to also pay #1,000 as tax for going to school irrespective of what the private schools are paying as tax. I have a family friend there and this is a confirm story.

By the way, you talk about the school being substandard. Please ask yourself how many parents in Ekiti can pay the fee of a school with standard structures. And mind you, structures don't determine how good a school is most times. Some schools are just living on names and structures, the students and pupils are dullard.

OP, private schools pay tax it's not a new thing. And from my own perspective, I don't think this school was closed down because of tax. I think it's because it's very below par.

Imagine, a 3-4 bedroom flat called college, where would JS1-SS3 be? Staff rooms, lab etc.

OP, get your fact right before you post false info.

Governor Fayose have been collecting Tax from all living things in Ekiti for some months now. I don't need to discuss about other tax which he is collecting. All I want to talk about here is the tax which his government has leveled schools.

Some private school students have failed to go to their various school to receive lecture for some weeks now.
This is because Fayose is now collecting tax from schools which students are made to pay the total some of #1,000 as tax for the government.

For any school that fails to collect this amount from student and pay to the government, the school will be sealed. The problem now is that, what of the school who cannot meet the tax leveled on them with the number of students they are having.

When Government are encouraging Northerners to go to school by giving them free meal, fayose is busy asking Ekiti students to pay tax for them to go to school...

Below is a picture of a school closed by Fayose.......

but why a direct tax on the students, an indirect tax added to tuition fees ought to be the best as against what is said up there.

U don't understand the post. My sister has a school in Ekiti. The money being collected is not tax. He mandated each pupil to pay #1,000 to government from their termly school fees. This is different from the tax being paid by the proprietors.

The tax is to be paid by the school authorities from the children's school fees. It is a certain percentage of the school fees but Nigerians being who they are, the school authorities will charge the pupils/students separately for tax and you will come here to blame Fayose.

Don't the schools enjoy the basic amenities/infrastructural facilities provided by the Government?

If private hospitals, businesses, workers pay tax, what makes you think private schools should be exempted? Don't they make profit?

School is free only in public school and public schools don't pay tax.

You people are quick to condemn those you hate. Fayose will finish his tenure whether APC likes it or not.

When you pay N50 for every deposit stamp in bank do you complain?

Shey, that picture na school or person house. How did the proprietor/proprietress even get approval to establish a school. Poor lighting even at the corridor let alone in the classroom. Ventilation nko, story for another day.

Sorry, I'm derailing but then schools should pay their taxes. Churches too.

I guess you are clueless like your president. These schools are not for profit. They are charging a large amount of money and making a lot of money. What is wrong with asking them to pay tax?

I note that you conveniently ignored the fact that these schools are charging students N1000 as "tax"

Why wont you pay your tax?...... you should pay your tax, but when its not being utilized for its purpose then you fight for it... then you come together and shout collectively.... these politicians loose focus when the populace group against them for not doing the right things. buhari is addressing issues bordering on fuel today because he knows the general populace is grouping gradually. (my point of view)

Haha! This what I'm expecting from a nitwit agbero who came from Ibadan to Ekiti.

Before any dunderhead come and quote me I'm from Ekiti State. Moba Local Government to be precise. I stay in the State Capital and I know what's up bout Ek.

I wrote this article on my last post on NL when a page was moved to the front praising Fayose as the best Governor.

Lemme address this that Peter Ayodele Fayose is a Propaganda man. He has nothing to offer

June 2014 when the likes of JKF and MOB where talking bout Manifestoes that will turn Ekiti around.

My brother Fayose was busy putting Poster round Ekiti saying "Meet your Next Governor" he was shouting and barking like a dog threatening to expose JKF.

No manifestoes. No good campaign promises.

A shallow man with a shallow brain, He's only in Ekiti to come and take his own share as a Governor no good plans.

Now back to the tax he's collecting its true. he's collecting 1,000 from every pupils and students of private schools. Where is the money going to?

How many strides has Fayose laid? Is it light up Basiri? or the recent flag off of the Fly over at Fajuyi? or his useless stomach infrastructure?

Ekiti don't know what they are in for.

Just of recent a man working with Government House told me he won't pay full salary for State Workers and in turn state workers rejected it so he's telling them to wait for allocation.

I stand corrected the last time any worker in Ekiti is paid was last year November.

Not only tax from student alone he's also collecting from Butchers 1,000 per 1 cow wink

He's a devourer

He's a scam

I rejoice with Ekiti cause this what they want.

[/b]
...@you....
You call him devourer.... No lie, u are adding dis sense of democratic party..I work in a school in lagos and a member of d management board..I know how much we pay.¤so don't complain
