Being accepted is one thing, paying for it is another. Hope they'll also award her scholarships and other grants because those schools are robbing students. If I could advise her, I would just let her know that networking is the key. She'll be mixing with future presidents, lawmakers and CEO's, DO NOT BE SHY!!!!

You missed the boat. The guy was talking about quota system and maginalisation, but your ethnic bias has bent your mind and forced you to read bigotry into his statement.

Ivy league schools have endowment fund that's pays for people from families who can't afford it and earn below 100 thousand dollars.Once you get accepted into an Ivy league school, money is never the problem. The issue is getting in.

She was a finalist in the 2016 Intel Science Talent Search for her research on cement that could help prevent underwater oil rigs from rupturing. On Monday, she received an invitation to the White House Science Fair
What an achievement for a teenager! Congrats to her and her family. I see her being courted by the top oil companies in the future too.

If omenka was to coment on this for political reasons it will be, ( she's an Israeli)

The others will say, "She's an Ipod abi Ipob)

You know na.. But now people are already flagging" tribal bigotry alert " because they didn't want them to rejoice in their tribal sentiments. They are uncomfortable with it now, yet shamelessly fire tribal shots ones it has to do with politics.

I'm not from the South East but I know what I'm saying. It's the truth.

We really have to stop being silly for political reasons.

For the successful child , I'll say big congratulations. THE WORLD IS YOUR OYSTER
Just be the best you can be.

I was like stopping some people from commenting on the 419 story that made healine before, but after I checked again, I heard this news and say, Aah! The Igbos are truly a great nation!

The story goes:

New York Valedictorian is Celebrating Her Acceptance to All 8 Ivy League Schools

Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, a high-school student from Long Island, N.Y., has a big decision to make soon. The Elmont High School valedictorian was accepted into all eight Ivy League schools!

Schools in the Ivy League are Brown University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Harvard University, Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania and Yale University.

She also gained admission to Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Augusta is the daughter of Nigerian immigrants and said her parents instilled in her the value of education.

“Though I was born here in America, I visited Nigeria many times,” she said. “And I’ve seen that my cousins don’t have the same opportunities that I have. So definitely, whatever I do, I want to make sure that it has an impact on Nigeria.”

She also says her own tenacity and persistence helped shape her into becoming a great student. But as with a lot of students, she did face hardships with some classes.

“I’ve struggled with numerous classes in the past,” Augusta said. “But I guess what allowed me to be successful, ultimately, in those classes, at the end, is my persistence and my tenacity.”

Augusta hasn't decided on which college to attend, but with a GPA of 101.6, and a recent invitation to the White House Science Fair, there's no doubt that she'll continue her academic excellence.
