Yoruba woman this, Igbo woman that, Hausa woman that Edo woman this and all the Other Tribe's woman that; we are extremely ignorant arguing over who is who.
The most beautiful, the finest entity or thing, the most gracious souls in this present universe, the past and in the future universe will always be the BLACKWOMAN. But ofcourse not in this period because in the last 6000 years, she has sufferred the most, she had been mistreated and neglected by her own black brothers that she had to bleach herself up, pancake her face every morning, apply cream before bed, cleansing of her face with 10-0-6 acidic liquid.
And all for what? so that the black brothers can look at her, give her some little respect and ease their pain.
Nevetheless, The Blackwoman remains the most marvellous, gracious and finest person forever, there is no compitition.
Infact, that hail mary praise was and is for the Blackwoman.

In every black community or tribe or clan on this planet, There is the blackest shining complexion to the lightest black shining complexion, we even have some beautiful albinoes which i know personally. Albinism can be treated by bring up that dominant gene up to a surface a little bit while they are still babies or younger.

I only explained what beauty means to me, no offence meant. I'm delighted your "beauty" sphere is gradually shifting away from the South East to now include Northern part of the country. Keep up the shift, the more the opportunity you have to travel out of your Aba base, the better informed you are.
Lol,why don't you let people agree or disagree with you. You don't need to shout that your women are more beautiful! Beauty is all about features, and the Yoruba world is yet to catch up.
I mentioned the Northern parts because they are beautiful but are costrained by religious values,so people don't get to see them always. No point debating this!

That Yoruba world is yet to catch-up with any group in this country and beyond is bigger than your mouth. I will refrain myself from giving further illustrations that might be provocative to more intelligent people than you from that part of the country.

having hairy chest or facial hair is NOT beauty neither are they beauty features,so i don't know u meaning of features u talking about?ibos should not even be talking about beauty to others, first go and deal with half of ur women having high level of testosterone and looking like men before coming here to talk about beauty.atleast the others look like women

You should learn how to interprete words based on context. Nairaland is a National forum, you can conduct a poll on the beauty of Nigerian women, respondents will throw up Igbo/Fulani/hausa,Efik,Edo way before mentioning Yoruba. Truth is always bitter,i don't expect you to argue over a simple issue like feminine beauty.
Re: Pre-independence Yoruba Women by Nobody: 2:53pm On Mar 30, 2015
Although I can't stand Yoruba people at times, their women are very beautiful and endowed with nice breasts and big booty . I also think the reason why they aren't deemed as beautiful as Igbo women(Haha), Fulani women, Edo women, Efik women, etc. is probably because they aren't as light. Another thing that really gets me heated is when someone does an appreciation thread for non-Igbo people, Igbos come out and spew their stupid sentiments. You people always complain about being mistreated, but you slimy cretins are the first to hurl insults at others.

This thread was meant to appreciate the beauty of an African woman, expecially the Yoruba eoman. But as usual, "kill joy" like you are hell bent on proving otherwise. You'll do well by posting your picture or that of your bicycle riding mother and grandmother in Imo state here for all to see your own definition of beauty.

On beauty,African magic Yoruba can be used as a standard for measuring beauty of Yoruba women. The fact is that most of the pretty looking women are mixed down the line or are from a different ethnic group,e.g :
Doris simeon - Edo
Helen Paul - Edo
Fathia Balogun - Delta
Iyabo Ojo - Yoruba/Igbo
Rachel Oniga - Delta
Mercy Aigbe - Edo
Toyin Aimakhu - Edo.
It is interesting how they come up to tell us they are not Yoruba or are mixed.
That leaves you with the rest and we know themsmiley.

Thank you for mentioning the ugliest ladies in Yoruba nollywood, seriously those are not considered top notch and sure as hell aren't pretty as Yoruba ladies in nollywood.Liz DA Silva alone is more beautiful than all of those women combined, smh.

I am surprised their clothed, while people did a lot to civilize you guys, praise them.
This is so ignorant and reflects your bigotry and internalized anti-blackness. Ppl wearing or not wearing clothes is not a sign of "civilization" dosent make you better than anyone. Besides various forms of weaving and dying have been indigenous to Africa for centuries upon centuries. Defining colonization as bringing civilization and enlightenment is so absurd, they brought death, misery, wars, and stole our natural resources. If we are the savage for not wearing clothes then I'm glad I'm not the civilized who commits genocide upon genodice, displaces people, ruins peoples lives through generations. People really need to evaluate themselves and their ideas. Also you shouldn't throw other people "down" in other to prove something to ignorant ppl.Yoruba people have a great culture just like every one else, it's not superior or inferior to any other, it's a culture that houses multiple ways of living, communicating, and understanding the world. Most ppl here are so childish, but that's not surprising. @axum

This is a really good picture. It's shows Igbo woven fabrics, accessories made of brass, and the style ppl wore back then. Judging ppl by colonial standards, and sexualizing women's bodies in ways they did not at that time only reflects you and your values, has nothing to do with the women in the picture.

Another ignorant monkey. Igbo women rarely bleach. You think they do because a lot of them have lighter hue and eidiotic Africans like you worship light skin women.

ibos and their pathetic lies.and who told u half of those women are pretty?bukky wright, sola osideko, temitope osoba, biodun okeowo are way finer than helen paul, rachel oniga and toyin.u packed all the non yorubas and claimed that they are fine when only few of them are.the pretty ones in ur list are mercy and Doris, the others are very ordinary looking.it is funny u ibos claim only mixed yorubas are fine when inter tribal marriage is very low in Nigeria and Yoruba land,so i don't know where u got ur mixed sh1t story from.it is not by force to comment especially if you have nothing resonable to say,cos u have not made any sense.btw iyabo ojo has no Ibo blood in her, don't know where u got that sh1t story from, both of her parents are yorubas.it is obvious u know nothing about the Yoruba movie industry,so don't embarass itself any further.

Iyabo Ojo's Biography

Alice Iyabo Ojo an Alist actress in Nollywood mostly in the yoruba movie sector was born on the 21st of December 1977 in to the Ogunro family in Obanikoro area of Lagos state, she hails from Abeokuta Itoko town in Ogun state, she has 2 siblings and is the only girl and the last born, her dad late Mr Adekunle Ogunro died years ago, while her mum Madam Olubunmi Fetuga is still very much alife, she attended Grace Children nursary and primary school in Gbagada, National College Gbagbaga and studied Estate managenent in Lagos state Polytechnic.

she joined the nigeria movie industry under the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in 1998 with the help of a senior colleague Bimbo Akintola who in turn introduced her to keppy Epeyoung, her first role was in a movie titled satanic directed by Mr Matayas, she took a break from acting when she got married in 1999 and had 2 lovely kids, she later returned back but first went to join Black Image an African dance drama stage group in 2001 and still in the same year she joined the Association of Nigeria Theatre Practioners (ANTP) under the Odunfa Caucus.

she has featured in over 150 movies and have produced over 14 movies of her own which includes Botife her 1st movie, Bofeboko, Ololufe, Ana si ana, Agogo ide, Ero mi, Iyan ogun odun, Wole akudaya, okunkun biribiri, award winning Omo gomina, Arinzo, Tenbelu and her most two recent english movies Silence (sayno2childabuse) and Beyond-disability yet to be released

The 36yrs old actress, producer, enterpreneur and a mother of two, 15yrs old Festus Oladunjoye Ojo (son) and 13yrs old Priscilla Ajoke Ojo (daugther) has also won alot of awards both local and international to mention a few:

Babe you don't have to do this.People in the real world know who the real beauties are.Ibo women may have an 'attractive' skin tone but most are not pretty(no offense). We (people av come across included) keep saying that the ethnic groups with the prettiest women are yoruba and fulani. No need to get yourself worked up over some people trying to rate their women high you don't need it.

That was actually mostly imported back then too lol, from the Ijaws and who in turn imported from the Yorubas in trading, the Igbos got many basic fabrics from their neighbors or other foreign places lol. They did practice and mimick some . No one is sexualizing them, more giggling. Traditional Igbo culture and attire is just like the Zulu, Luo , Kikongo, Efik-Ibibio, Kikuyu and other more nude cultures in Africa, nothing exactly wrong with it, but it can be funny for people with more covered up cultures like the Malinke, Akan, Yoruba, Somali, Amhara...
