Yeah, i agree, we've improved a lot. Atleast from where we were coming from in 2010 to today, there's been a lot of changes. I'm also happy with the new harmonised camo across the 3 armed services. That's a decent source of personal satisfaction for me.

This guy looks very good though!!

He places his gun telling us he is left handed but places his side arm on his right thigh. Might be wrong though.

He carries his primary weapon in a way telling us he is left handed but places his side(secondary) weapon on his right thigh. I might be wrong though

You don't just train to use both hands. It takes time to master 1 especially during weapon swap in a gunfight. You need comfortability in high end missions. You take years in mastering both hands not just 6 months in Belarus or Russia. I think I have said enough on this matter. Ciao.

the guy is obviously SBS. they were (maybe still are) the best trained SF in the country before BH. so it's still possible he's trained to switch arms.

you wrote as if belarus and russia helped us build our SF. we've had them long before now. just that the army got left behind in terms of training and gears.

good thing we are back on track though

Was about to post the same thing.

The position of his side arm shows he uses his right hand comfortably since this is not just a PR image taken by a model, he is an actual Spec Ops personnel. And if he's not a model then the most plausible explanation is that he uses both hands, you can only prove otherwise if you know him personally.

From the picture, there is action on the background in the form of burning houses, which indicates he's in the theatre.
Which rules out the possibility of a staged outlook for the cameras. The location of his hand grenade shows that he's predominantly left-handed. The extra mag is on the right side which makes it easier to pick with his left hand; the side arm is the only thing showing that he also uses his right hand, and you only use the side arm as a secondary option.

Edited:

His webbings look shifted to the right side more than the left, which might point to him to have performed a short halt (when soldiers drop to one knee and face outwards).

New Algerian Navy MEKO A-200 frigate Erradii sailing down the Kiel Canal on voyage to her new home. Of course the Algerians have outfitted their A-200s and Lynx helis exactly how we (SA) would have, if funding were no problem.
I'll still take solace in SA weapons systems in the form of Umkhonto missiles on the frigates and Mokopa missiles in the Lynx helis. cool

Bigger gun and more missiles is about all they got extra.

Nothing that couldent be added in a crisis
