Negotiations with Fulani herdsmen? In my candid opinion is an exercise in futility. Just feed their medieval carcass to the crocodiles at the iyi-oku river. No bodies no evidence. |

When Boko Haram was coming up, the northern elite that supposed talk and condemn their act kept quite because then they were killing Christians only until they finished Christians and start bombing Muslims. Now another militant in the name of Fulani herdsmen is growing and no northern elites or politician has stand against this odd. Ugwuanyi what about the two women that were kidnapped. What are the terms of the so called peace pact? For your information, Fulani does not no peace so you better equip your government to be able to curb this menace. |

All these ones running their mouths like diarrhea, u don't know anything about leadership. Else u will know that violence is not the answer in this case rather tactical approach. Who are u flushing out? These men can migrate tomorrow and com back to the village at night and clear the whole villagers and noone will kno who did it or where to find them. This tactical approach was to quell their anger about their people and cattles that were killed in the stampede during the crisis. Na so una take talk say Jonathan na weakling, as una vote GMB put now una don see senior brother of bravery |

mrvitalis:He made that pact to protect Awgu people. Because he knew if he didn't those nomads might retaliate and massacre innocent people. If u think killing in order to protect is the answer to violence, don't u think NIGERIA should be free of BOKO HARAM by now ?? |

I really think it's bullshit for these people to just start to roam animals into every community they see. it's always bound to bring tension when they take their cattle into farmland hence damaging crops. well I know why they've suddenly grown big balls of recent. .. |

DorisK:God dash you sense but unfortunately not the same for many of those IPOB louts shouting kill them kill them. They simply have no idea of the Fulani culture and their capacity for revenge. They don;t know that the Fulani are unforgiving and can bide their time even if it takes years till they extract their pound of flesh in revenge - even if it means passing it to the next generation. Not saying they are always blameless; but often the media does not report their side of the story. The Fulani don't just wake up and decide to attack or kill ppl for no just reason; many a times they too have been victims, where they are attacked and killed for their cattle worth millions of Naira. The problem of nomadic cattle rearers and farmers is not confined only to the south or the middlebelt but throughout this country and beyond. The Fulani have been roaming vast regions of West and central Africa, rearing their cattle for centuries while maintaining their nomadic way of life, well before many of the present farm settlements. They argue that even though their nomadic life has not physically tied them down to these lands like farmers, who are relatively newcomers; they also should have a right to their way of life as nomadic herders and therefore a continued right of access to their ancestral grazing grounds. These conflicts will no doubt continue and should be managed carefully; I commend the governor for trying to keep the peace, though I foresee the Fulanis eventually losing out as more and more of their traditional grazing grounds are taken over by farmers and turned to farmlands with government backing - it reminds me of the plight of the Red Indians in modern day America. |

All I see is an act of cowardice. They kill, rape and destroy...and all you do is "sign a pact" (meaning they still stay on our land freely). I pity Ugwuanyi. You think these guys want to be your friends? Let's watch and see. #BeenAvictim |

mrvitalis:Don't mind these yeye leaders! he facilitated the release of those protecting themselves in self defence. closed his ears to their cries when the FOOLANIs (fulanis) were attacking them! He did not even bother to call such meeting and know what his people are going through. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi is not proactive at all! I know Igbos are tolerant but must they live in fear on their Land? would he have negotiated if the same injury was inflicted on his children or siblings? Judgements awaits them all! |
