ABUJA – Apparently disappointed with the drastic reduction of budgetary allocation to capital projects in the 2016 budget estimates, President Muhammadu Buhari and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo had met with the senate president, Dr. Bukola Saraki and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr Yakubu Dogara.

The meeting, Vanguard exclusively gathered held, Saturday night, at the presidential villa with the participation of some ministers.

The meeting was to find a ruse on some proposals in the budget that were either drastically reduced, transferred or expunged.

Another subject that featured prominently for evaluation in the meeting was whether the presidency was returning the document back to National Assembly to be reworked or in due course of its implementation, send a Supplementary Bill to the parliament.

It will be recalled that the presidency on Friday held an emergency meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC to review the details of the budget submitted by the National Assembly on Thursday.

To this end, the Ministers were mandated to review the budget vis-a-vis their original submissions

A presidency source told Vanguard in confidence that President Buhari was in haste to assent to the budget even before he traveled to China, but new findings in the budget indicated that it was not implemented.

The source stated that though he was not particularly privy to the Saturday meeting, it was sure that there had been some form of communication between the presidency and the national in trying to find a meeting point on the budget.

“There has been some communication between presidency and the National Assembly. I don’t know of any specific meeting at any specific time. But I know there should be some form of communication between both arms of government to rectify things.

“To tell you the truth, the president is in a haste to sign the budget into law as soon as possible”, he said.

They are all APC members and that budget should have been a reflection of parties policies and plan. Removing a big project like 60b worth Lagos-Calabar railway mean they've lost touch with their party's strategic plans.

They called GEJ clueless but he didn't have a budget scandal throughout his tenure. Now this doollard can't pass a budget and can't make corrections even after failing severally. Truly truly, once upon a time, a doollard was born in Daura.

Why is only PDP paper(vanguard) carrying news on budget. The will say one thing in the morning and change it in the evening. Issue of Lagos_Calabar rail line was raised by them just to caused insult and confusion between national assembly and presidency. Vanguard is really wailling paper

What Buhari is doing is a delicate surgical procedure and requires a lot of focus, time, and tact. Get this thing wrong and Nigeria just might never come out of the operating room.

There are dark forces, very powerful principalities, in Nigeria, from whose grasp Buhari is fighting to rescue the country. They've plundered the country for years unhindered and are hell bent on retaining the uncanny tradition of the past where everyone goat is allowed to walk in and out of the yarm barns with the guards blindfolded.

This war is a war that must be won at all cost if we want our nation back and the least we can do as those who bear the brunt of the sacrilegious excesses of our leaders past is to throw our weight behind this selfless, dogged and incorruptible leader.

What moral right does Saraki have to contine to deliberate on issues of national importance? Scores of potentially jailing crimes are allegedly committed by him. He is in court to quash judicial process against him and not to launder his tainted image through reasonable defense. In a sane society, Saraki would have been detained or even quarantined until he is convicted or 'acquited'. Does todays caption not grow goose pimples of the conveners of Occupy Nigeria? What are we waiting for? The demand for the resignation and arrest of Bukola Saraki is worth shutting down the backsliding Nigerian economy! My view!
