Why are most aeroplanes painted white?

Lol..... Because if you paint am black...... And e enter cloud...... How them wan take locate am with even radar

You know say oyibo no d like waste money, na im make dem no put "horn" for aeroplane so if e come black join, how ...... Abeg...... Ike agwulam

because it's cheaper. Imagine u buy a plane and u want to repaint, d cost will b xtremely,too high.
Rembr u hv to imprint ur logo too

So you are trying to say that they purposely paint it all white for no good reason?

I have been thinking about this and at some point, I even became confused.

painting something like an air plane white is customer friendly. the oyinbos have made it so that when something is painted black or red, it emits a sinister vibe

*. Other colours hides dirts which possibly increases drag.

*. White paints often indicates problems like leaking seals, internal pipe leaks, corrosion in exposed flap tracks etc.

*. White paints doesnt fade easily.

*. White paint is cheaper than other colours (either because it costs less and/or weighs less).

*. White makes it easier to apply names and logos of other companies when leasing your aircraft to someone else. Saves a trip to the paint shop, instead you just apply stickers.
