My brother, the democratic system we practice (The American system) was specifically designed to ensue the President is not all powerful. See how little Obama was able to do in 8 years due to obstruction from the Republicans in the House and Senate. It is a system that requires give and take. OBJ, Yardua(Of blessed Memory) and GEJ understood this.

I know Buhari wants to do the right thing for the Nation, but he has to work within the confines of the system, and that means there has to be some 'give' to the National assembly. It's not nice, but that's the reality, there is no way the NASS will pass a budget that does not 'favor' them in some ways.

My own personal opinion is that we are not yet ready for this type of democracy, we lack the patriotic maturity for it. Having lived through both Military and Civilian govt s, I am sorry but I'll take the Military any day of the week.

Statements the presidency made were not diplomatic to say at least.

Did Saraki get 2/3 to be elected? He got majority but nowhere close to 2/3 neither did Dogara. Then keep in mind that some Southern senators that supported Saraki's election too are demanding that Lagos-Calabar should be added.
