That is what is called Stockholm syndrome. Its a medical condition where the captive becomes emotionally attached to his/her captors over time when there is no alternative to escape.you can do more Google research on it. The problem this now presents is that bcus of the illiteracy and stigma from neighbours and Nigerians at large, we might be creating more dangerous problems than boko haram in the future wen these gals feel totally rejected and strike back at society for rejecting them.

I'm surprise at some of the questions you have asked here! Could it be you are not from Nigeria or don't have village in Nigeria?

Let me enlighten you! Boko sees us the christians as sinners, hence, they feel converting christian man/woman is to take him/her away from sin, they go further while converting someone use some fetish/brainwash and diabolic means to make the person believe what they believe/idea. This is what they do, including some persons who are not boko but are involved in convertion of people's religious faith.

This kind of situation is referred to in psychology as the Stockholm Syndrome and occurs when a hostage begins to sympathize with the hostage taker. Check Google for more info.

It is called Stockholm syndrome; a psychological condition that makes you love and the sametime like your captor. These girls were unexposed to you and were captured at an impressionable age.

This isn't strange, and i think it should be expected in this case where the victims are minors who can easily be brainwashed. You see the boko haram commander for who he is, a terrorist. But she sees him as a loving husband. She is only 17! Besides an average 17yr old girl child in that part of the country may not have the same exposure and intellect as her counterpart down south. When you consider these factors, you may understand her situation better.

My suggestion is to reintegrate them as soon as they return. Occupy them by putting them to school or trade apprenticeship preferably in a new community. Those who want to remarry can be encouraged to do so. Those returning with babies should be relieved of that burden and reminder by orphanages. All these measures are to be backed up with frequent and professional counselling.

From what I see today in Nigeria I am very certain that Muslims would not need to use a violent jihad to islamize Nigeria. CHRISTIANS themselves will be used by Muslims to islamize Nigeria. In addition, she became married to the BH commander who treated her nicer than her own family. Being a wife of a commander may have given her prestige and protection in the BH camp. This is strictly not the case of Stockholm syndrome. But a wife who genuinely misses her husband due to the stigma by neighbors and her family. Sad!
