This Korean cars have gone out of the reach of the middle class. And these are cars that have no scrap value and depreciate rapidly.

@TokyoBulls i have very sweet honda city 2012 ready to hit the road at N55,000 a week independent driver or a serious minded and sharp driver to work as my uber driver. 08088997344

Thanks for the offer. However, I can't do N55,000 for Honda City 2012. The best I can do is N40,000 consistently with premium maintenance of your car.

Thanks for your interest. From my perspective, there are four possible options:

1. The car owner is the same as the driver. In this case, the car owner is a partner-driver and the car must be 2009 or newer with less than 100,000 km mileage. The car must pass Uber car inspection (which takes place at Yaba or Lekki) and the partner-driver must possess Driver's License and Lagos State Drivers' Institute Card and go through Uber Drivers' Onboarding and pass the assessment.

2. The car owner hires a driver to use the car on Uber and earn an income. Same conditions for the car and driver. In this case, the partner (car owner) must have sufficient time, energy, skills, gut, etc to manage both the car and the driver to ensure optimal usage of the car and earnings.

3. The car owner appoints a registered Uber partner to manage the car and driver and get a fixed income for the car every week, usually on Saturdays. This is where my company plays. We have well-trained drivers and an operations team to ensure the cars are well used and only on Uber. We pay our clients a fixed amount for each car on Saturdays.

4. Hire-purchase or drive-to-own where the car owner gets a driver and the driver remits a fixed amount weekly to own the car at the end of a period.

You can buy very good pre-owned cars in great conditions. The cars do not have to be new. I am available to answer any further questions in order to guide you in this investment decision making.

Hi TokyoBulls,

Sincere apologies for my belated response. Your input is helpful and highly appreciated. I look forward to doing business with you soon.

I'd like to know the price range for pre-owned cars as well.

Thanks

Price range for pre-owned cars as in the cost of the cars or the income you should expect from them? For cost of pre-owned cars, it depends on whether it is foreign pre-owned (tokunbo) or local pre-owned (Nigerian used). You can get some ideas on carmudi.com or jiji.com, etc. Be careful when buying pre-owned cars in Nigeria as there are no certified pre-owned cars here. For earnings, we give N40,000 per week.

I am confident no driver can deliver N60,000 to you in a consistent and sustainable way so I advise you manage your expectations right. To deliver N60,000, the driver needs to make NGN (60,000 for you + 15, 000 for fuel + 20, 000 for himself + 5, 000 for data phone calls, + 10, 000 for routine maintenance + 10, 000 for repairs + X, 000 for miscellaneous costs). This is over N120, 000 as net income after Uber deducts 20% (which means the driver needs to deliver over N150, 000 every week) and I can confidently tell you no driver can deliver this. You also need to be careful so the car is not misused and/or overused. To deliver N100, 000 (which is minimum 20% less than your expectation), the driver needs to do 15 or more trips per day and that's a lot of stress and strain on the car. If you run your numbers well, you will understand these details and (perhaps) reset your expectations. You may get a driver to give you N60,000 for one or two weeks, but it will not happen for a month.

From my understanding, I believe both of you are right in your own way. Fanex is looking at it from an angle of 150k gross income or slightly more. I think 55-60k is attainable depending on hard work tho. At least there are big ballers that make over 200k weekly.

There is this particular partner and his driver that made over 200k weekly twice in less dan a month.... Don't wanna mention their names.

And as TokyoBulls rightly said, it's not constant but it can be attainable in a week or 2.

As a businessman, I would rather zero my mind to 50k weekly. That's why it's a business, if it comes more than that, Glory be to God!!!

Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by TokyoBulls(m): 11:04am On Apr 27, 2016
I understand your points and where you come from but I have been on Uber for some time and my advice is from this. In Lagos, 50K net income every week is tough UNLESS the car is brand new and you don't need repairs. I have drivers who have crossed N180K few times but the reality is, can they do N180K every week? NO. Can they do N150K every week? NO. Can they do N120K every week? Maybe but from experience, NO. N100K to N120K is the realistic gross income for a very hard working driver. Most drivers don't cross N80K per week. I know the partner and driver you are talking about and I can tell you it is possible once or twice but not consistently. Experienced partners who see those numbers will always laugh because they understand the system. If these N200, 000 numbers are possible weekly, then you won't see many partners offering their cars on Uber Finder. The reality is, those in the system know the business and what's possible. Thanks

Noted and thanks for the Info. No knowledge is wasted. Hoping to join u guys by next month as a partner-driver, got few friends on Uber and am here learning a thing or two as well. Would love to join with a bigger ride tho, but my financial capacity can't go higher than the 2015 Grand Xcent (brand new).
