Hm, perhaps he should stick to cash only before he starts blaming the customers for any hitches in the machines.

Cash only would be better for all involved.

They would have nothing to say to actual scammers but jump nastily on non scammers.

i wont be surprised if one of those pos machines is rigged to clone your card details, all they then need is to watch you enter your pin number and before you know you are getting deducted for shopping in china

The word Igbo literally means: "I go before others"...
Igbos are pace setters since 19B4ADAM.

Another thing with them is that they know how to make money at the slightest provocation. Olaudah Equiano from Umuahia was the first slave to buy his own freedom with his own money.

I am Wazobia by tribe, but i envy these Igbos cos wherever you plant them; one thing is sure, they must blossom.
equiano is an igbo.. Buh not from umuahia

shocked

Even though I didn't see any POS machine(s),I can only wonder why he will have 7 of them. The bankers that deployed them did that to met activity target;I can assure you that.

How much do those machines collect in a month? Can the NRFF on the collections buy one machine let alone 7?

This can't happen in Lagos sha.If you can't generate substantial cash flow, then u don't deserve POS machines-at least in this present times. It cost the bank btw 40 and 150k (depending on the type and level of sophistication) to give a merchant a machine and it's given free of charge.Banks are no longer doing moi-moi banking o!They'll rather retrieve idle assets instead of tying dem down.

*modified*...Machines seen grin

NIBBS normally disable machines on the network after abt a week of inactivity.
most of what u said is true but note nibss disable pos machines after 3 months of inactivity not a week

I told the boys at the provision store in my area to get one, they didn't even understand what I was talking about. Every medium/large scale retailer such as this should have at least one POS machine.
i don't trust that thing and can't use it.i went to a supermarket sometimes ago and after buying,I used the pos and left.u can't believe that on getting home,I got a message and my cash has been retracted. I have to go there with my church mind to tell them and pay in cash

I love the business sense of the igbos.

All other tribes are fill owing.

Go to the ant thou sluggards learn her ways and be wise.
I like the Igbos business sense but that does not mean u should insult other tribes. It's this sort of attitude that causes people to attack you.

POS machines uses GSM network to dial into the network to validate customer transactions.

With the nature of networks in Nigeria, most Nigerians have two or three phones or multiple SIM cards in one phone in order to stay connected.

This guy must have experienced some service degradations in the past hence he has multiple in order to ensure business continuity at all times.

Also, if he wants to deposit money into more than one account of his, he need multiple POS.

Plus, most igbos sell items on behalf others, friends and those friends reciprocate as well, so if he sell Obira's shoes it is less complicated if he uses Obira's POS to complete the transaction, instead of the money going into his account and they start doing further arithmetic late and moving VAT from one merchant to another and the consequences of how government audit will view and assign those VAT payments, etc.
